BMC JUNIOR DEBATE & PUBLIC SPEAKING CHAMPIONSHIP | CLOSING STATEMENT

After three days of intense intellectual competition, passionate arguments, powerful public speaking, and remarkable displays of confidence, the BMC Junior Debate and Public Speaking Championship officially came to a close on Sunday.

The championship brought together 11 schools and 16 teams, creating a platform where young minds could challenge ideas, build confidence, learn from one another, and compete for excellence.

As Salaam Schools South Sudan, we are deeply proud to have hosted this championship and to have been part of an initiative that places intellectual development and the proper upbringing of young people at the centre of our shared vision.

Our dearest congratulations to both schools for their outstanding performances. Your hard work, preparation, determination, and consistency throughout the championship earned you this achievement, and we celebrate you.

We are also especially proud to announce a remarkable opportunity arising from this championship.

Stephen George Deng, the second-best public speaker of the tournament and a Gold Cup Champion, has earned the recognition of the Director of Studies at Salaam Primary School Mr. Machar Malek Ajokuei, who has offered to sponsor Stephen’s four-year tenure at Salaam Secondary School when he joins high school.

This is more than a prize. It is a commitment to nurturing talent, rewarding excellence, and ensuring that promising young people have the opportunity to continue developing their abilities.

To all the schools and teams that participated, we extend our heartfelt congratulations. We may not be able to mention every team individually, but we saw your effort. We saw your preparation. We saw your courage to stand before an audience, defend ideas, speak with confidence, and compete for the championship.

YOU ARE ALL CHAMPIONS.

Winning a trophy may recognise one team, but the courage to participate, the lessons learned, the friendships formed, the confidence gained, and the experience accumulated are victories in themselves. Not everyone leaves with a trophy, but everyone leaves with something valuable.

As Salaam Schools South Sudan, we reaffirm our commitment to the intellectual development of young people. We shall continue to support organisations such as BMC, Joint Debate Society (JDS), Youth Link Foundation, and many others whenever they call upon us to contribute (host) to initiatives that promote education, debate, public speaking, leadership, and the proper upbringing of students.

This is not merely an institutional commitment.
It is our personal commitment to our shared vision of raising a generation that can think critically, speak courageously, lead responsibly, and build better communities.

To every school, every participant, every adjudicator, organiser, coach, teacher, volunteer, and supporter who contributed to making this championship possible — thank you.

📌 OFFICIAL 🚨‼️

Finally, the results for Salaam Schools Standard Mock Examination (SASSME) 2026 are officially out with Anyang Wol Akoon leading the class with an average of 89.2% and a total of 446 points across five subjects, this is a strong statement from her and Nuer Wal Biel following with an average of 87% and a total of 433 points.

Please check your results, and also the results of your children, siblings and friends. For the full scale of the pupils' performance, please check the scale reader below the paper and examine it for yourself.
