Apply for this opportunity! Share this with your friend, and let's put South Sudanese youth voices on the map.

Applications to become a Member of the Youth Advisory Board are open! What is this opportunity all about, and who is this for? Read more to find out! https://aueuyouthvoiceslab.eu/applications-are-open-for-the-youth-advisory-board/
You are between 15 and 35 years old. You have a working proficiency in English and/or French. You are a current resident in one of the project's implementing countries: Burundi, Burkina Faso, Ghana, South Sudan, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Cameroon, Tunisia and Belgium.

One way we ensure youth voices are listened to is through the Youth Advisory Board, a fundamental mechanism of the overall project.

What is the Youth Advisory Board?

The Youth Advisory Board is a group of young people from the project’s intervention countries whose role is to assess the project’s impact on local communities and advise on the Consortium’s next steps. Our goal is to give power to young people from marginalized and vulnerable communities, those who often experience barriers to accessing power and resources. The selected members of this board will keep their positions until the end of the project in February 2028.

AU-EU Youth Voices Lab – Power of the Collective is a four-year EuropeAid project that fosters a more youth-responsive and inclusive society in Africa and Europe. It is implemented by an international consortium with youth-led and youth-informed work expertise, including Oxfam, Restless Development, Search for Common Ground, Youthmakers Hub, and ComDev Africa.

The project envisions a society where youth engagement, empowerment, and connection drive policy-making, partnerships, and decision-making. Operations are continent-wide, and the strategies involve youth and decision-makers from all 54 African countries, targeting 14 Intervention Countries in Africa and 1 in Europe for in-person activities.

Key Opportunities
The project develops the Youth Voices Lab App, which serves as a virtual mirror of the collective and builds on input from 10,000 young people, tailored to their needs and priorities.

The Youth Voices Third-Party-Funding Mechanism (YV-TPFM) supports youth-led advocacy initiatives by providing microgrants ranging from €1,000 to €10,000 per collective to youth-led groups from intervention countries and the youth diaspora to support their actions. It aims at strengthening local and continental advocacy through research, training, and accountability mechanisms.

Other key actions include training 24,000 young people on advocacy-related skills, hosting Youth Power Hackathons, and supporting youth representatives in joining intergenerational and cross-continental decision-making spaces.

Promised Land Secondary School Cultural Festival.

The 2nd Edition of the Wisdom and Power Initiative proudly presents the Promised Land Secondary School Cultural Festival under the theme "Celebrating our Diversity for Peace and Development." Our emphasis is on fostering intercultural and cross-cultural peacebuilding efforts that actively engage communities in shaping their collective future through shared cultural values and mutual understanding. Over the course of the eight years of Promised Land Secondary School's operation, we have observed the community efforts to collaborate with educational institutions aimed at providing students with essential education while also embracing and promoting cultural values and ethics. In response to this commendable effort, we have taken a leading role in developing programs tailored to address these specific needs.

The activities will encompass:

1. South Sudanese traditional foods and dances festival by our students from over ten different ethnic groups across South Sudan.
2. Poems, Music, Drama, Comedy & Choirs
3. Traditional Storytelling by community elders
4. Swearing in of the elected student leaders
5. Welcoming of S.1 & New Students
6. Celebration of S.1, 2024 Promised Land Football Champions
7. Celebration of the Interschool Athletic Trophies for Boys & Girls

Building South Sudan is a collective effort. Wisdom and Power Initiative is a Promised Land Secondary School program that brings students and communities together to share and learn from each other. By empowering the disempowered communities, we aim to discuss important topics such as early and forced girl-child marriages, equal access to education, and peace among the communities.

Best wishes,

Administration,
Promised Land Secondary School.
