GIVE PRIORITY TO THE PRIORITIES.
From "Peace Implementations" to the "country’s name", doesn't this suggest that the reason for the delay in the implementations is the leaders redundancy in giving priorities a priority?
Here I quote from what Dr. Riek said during his argument "debates are ongoing with the leaders and South Sudanese to adopt a suitable name for the country."
If they push for the change in the name, it will cost time and of course money because it is going to be made a national issue which will call for debates in both the presidency, the council of ministers and the national parliament. After many debates, South Sudan as a democratic state will ask the consents of the citizens to vote for the new name of the Republic. But wait! Is South Sudan conducive for this process now? Do we have enough money to facilitate this now?
Okay, let's say they (the leaders) succeed in changing the name after some good time and spending billions of dollars which we borrow either from IMF, World Bank or China without the consent of the citizens, the change in the country's name comes with change in many national symbols including Anthem. The implementations of the peace agreement need money and time too and that is every citizens demand now.
The leaders are about to divert our attentions from the real issues to less important things. After all, none of them is new in the system, whether it is just a direction or name, they brought it about after discussions. Let it wait, it is not urgent. It is true many countries in the world history had their names change but the change of the name is not an issue now, leave it and focus on what bring you together, that is PEACE IMPLEMENTATION.
South Sudan citizens are in dire need for genuine peace which guarantees their safety and growth.
