👨‍🏫 AbacuSat #2 – GitHub for School Collaboration

This Saturday, a group of teachers from Basisschool De Hoeksteen joined us for a focused training session on how to use GitHub as a central platform for organizing school activities.

GitHub is more than a coding platform. It allows teams to manage projects, share documentation, assign tasks, track progress, and collaborate efficiently in one structured space. At AbacusCI, we are introducing GitHub as a modern tool to improve how schools work together online.

In this first session, we carried out a digital skills diagnostic, shared ideas, and took the first steps toward building a stronger, more connected digital workflow for the entire team.

Thank you to all participants for their enthusiasm and openness to this new approach!

🧠✨ Talk about Computing - AI Never Think

On May 30, 2025, Abacus Computing Institute visited the Educational Center Reparador de Sueños to lead a dynamic session on the fundamentals of computing, with students from Cuba, Suriname, and Venezuela united in one classroom 🇸🇷 🇨🇺 🇻🇪.

From chalkboard reflections to student questions, the group explored:

🔹 Why Artificial Intelligence is not real thinking
🔹 The difference between logic and emotion, and why machines can't feel
🔹 What a computer is (and isn’t), and what computing really means
🔹 How operating systems, memory and software work
🔹 The first step in programming: using flowcharts to think before coding

📸 No computers? No problem. Real learning begins with paper, pencil, and presence.

Because technology starts in the mind, not the machine.
