IAS offers accredited American education to students from all over the world residing in Paramaribo, Up to June 30, 2013 the school was accredited by SACS.
Since 2003, we were accredited by AdvancED's Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Council on Accreditation and School Improvement (SACS CASI). In 2012 the IAS decided to go for a joint ACSI/MSA accreditation in 2013. We are happy to announce that we are the only dual accredited school in Suriname by ASCI (valid from Jan 1, 2014 till June 30, 2021) and MSA (valid from May 1, 2014 till May 1

🎓 Gefeliciteerd aan de afgestudeerden van de International Academy of Suriname van 2026!
Op vrijdag sprak zaakgelastigde Paul Watzlavick de afgestudeerden van dit jaar toe en benadrukte hij de transformerende kracht van onderwijs en de beheersing van de Engelse taal.
"Het feit dat jullie in het Engels onderwijs hebben genoten, betekent dat jullie een paspoort naar kansen hebben – de mogelijkheid om te communiceren, te concurreren en een bijdrage te leveren waar ook ter wereld," zei hij tegen de afgestudeerden.
Zaakgelastigde Watzlavick benadrukte de inzet van de Amerikaanse ambassade om de onderwijsmogelijkheden in Suriname uit te breiden, waaronder het Fulbright Foreign Student Program en het Regional English Language Office.

On Friday, Chargé d'Affaires Paul Watzlavick addressed this year's graduates, emphasizing the transformative power of education and English-language proficiency.
"The fact that you've been educated in English means you have a passport to opportunity—the ability to communicate, compete, and contribute anywhere in the world," he told graduates.
CDA Watzlavick highlighted the U.S. Embassy's commitment to expanding educational opportunities in Suriname, including the Fulbright Foreign Student Program and the Regional English Language Office.
