SYNOPSIS OF THE FINAL DAY OF ‘’WIN OR WIN CONTEST’’ AND PHOTOS

Today’s activity was, as usual, glamorous. We had two games, the first was between LCOFT vs LEAC on the topic ‘’ABORTION’’ and the second was between LCG vs SANKORE on the topic ‘’ ARE SENEGALESE YOUNG PEOPLE MEETING CITIZENSHIP EXPECTATION?’’. At 4pm the third place game began with LCOFT and LEAC. Each of the teams had 8 towers to go on the stage and lighten up their ideas to drag the jury’s and the audience’s attention to their shrewdness.

Once received the green light from the jury they commenced to go on the stage one by one abiding by the rules. Each team skimmed and left through their mind to husk the questions and obfuscated arguments of opponents.

The audience was stunned and couldn’t help giving around applaud after every speech of debaters. However the jury was truly focused making an emphasis on debaters’ gestures, grammars, vocabularies and expressions or phrases taken from thinkers. And after having elapsed the time given to them, the jury asked some times and gave a recess to teams and the audience to mark debaters according to the criteria’s quoted a while ago. Now break was over and people expected the delivery of results!! Hearts were pulsating; onlookers were aroused and excited just because each of them wanted their team not to forfeit. But jury said ‘’ wait and follow the final of the fabulous debate and right after every expectation would be fulfilled. Thus, doors of the final game became opened and everybody went thru to relish the performance.

Second game meaning the final started with LCG vs SANKORE. Only the ushering of teams transformed the room overcrowded as ‘’ l don’t have the word’’.

One by one argument got beautifully uttered and well-spotted and defended by talkers. The performance was joyful and youthful because ideas were pertinent and accurate. Shyness, coyness, anxiety and incoherence were criminated banned from their route of clarifying points. When SANKORE slanted ideas, people tilted the balance in favour of them and when LCG came the same vibes was given to them. Beyond being happy, the audience was stunned, amazed, puzzled and dazzled by the debaters.

In the name of ALLAH some argue said ‘’ each of the teams deserved to be enthroned’’ because on plat of gold slants were shied on in sight of being relished by anybody who left activities or program and took that time to participate in the success of such a beautiful event. While the debate got increasingly alluring the time was trimming away. Last tower for each team and still uncertainty was conspicuous. Nobody had the audacity to foretell the winner with capital ‘’W’’ and the winner with small ‘’w’’.

People were mutually nudging each other just to know which English club would be ‘’ the W’’. The jury threw up hand to signal that the game was at its end. And with the same format they gave a recess to onlookers to have a fresh breath of air in order to strengthen their wits, faiths and willingness to welcome the results.

Fifteen minutes after everybody was called to get back to the room to attend the delivery of the games. That was unexplainable. Teams and spectators each of them clang, hang up and hugged somebody because the emotion pressurized all of the persons in that very room. We saw the jury making straight for the podium. The adrenalin got flowing, eyes wanted to burst papers in teacher’ hands for seeing what was jotted down on them. HOLD YOUR BREATH!!!!!!!!!

HERE ARE RESULTS:

LEAC with 111 points took it over LCOFT which had 106points.

LCG with 111 lost to SANKORE which scored 112points. They’re the Winner with ‘’ the W’’ of ‘’ the fabulous debate’’/
And the best debater of ‘’ Win or win contest’’ was and is LEAC English club chairwoman Mrs Aminata N’DAIYE.
Despair, tears, people were wailing and gnashing their teeth because everybody felt being ‘’ The W’’. And as a wrap-up clubs members took speech and emphasized that nobody was losers but rather every team was winner. That’s how it went off. That ‘‘the fabulous debate’’ of ‘Win or win contest’’ 2015. Now get ready for the celebration of the love we all have in common for Shakespeare’s language and the remission of awards to teams inchalla. Don’t miss it it’ll be marvellous, gorgeous and glamorous.

SYNOPSIS OF TODAY'S WIN OR WIN CONTEST MATCHES

SUMMARY OF DAY APRIL 22, 2015 (win or win contest)

Last year, ELS organized a contest titled WIN OR WIN CONTEST revolved around three rubrics: READING AND WRITING, LISTENING AND TRANSCRIBING AND PLEADING AND DEBATING. It gathered the five (5) biggest Englsih Clubs in Saint-Louis: LCG, LEAC, LAF, SANKORE and LCOFT. And LCOFT was the winner of that very first edition of The Win or Win Contest 2014.

This year, ELS has reiterated its commitment by organizing this competition again. However, remember that some changes have been made. It is no longer these three rubrics that make up the competition because they are now concentrated around a single topic that is the "FABULOUS DEBATE" to be held on Wednesday, april 22 and 29, 2015 at Chambre de Commerce of St. Louis. This year competing are, as you probably know it: Charles De Gaulle, Aimé CESAIRE, CHEIKH OMAR TALL Foutiyou and SANKORE.

Look at your calendar and you're going to find that 22nd was yesterday. So do you want the facts being recounted to you? Read On.

ON YOUR MARKS, READY, GO.

It is Wednesday, April 22, 2015; activities have started around 4 pm. They were opened by the speech of the general secretary of the association: Abdoulaye Seck
Thus, the two teams such SANKORE and LCOFT started the first game with the theme: " TALIBES: EDUCATED OR EXPLOITED ?

Very important ideas have been developed to either side of the competitors. A very fierce debate composed by both teams that gave their almost in their researches and in their presentations to provide the public with satisfaction. And rest assured, they accomplished it.

The second game opposed L.C.G to L.E.A.C. A match that had the same characteristics of the precious one. The debaters have given us an incredible match by using different authors, based on our daily lives or even out of the country in order to bring more light on the topic that was: ARE SENEGALESE WOMEN READY FOR HIGH LEADERSHIP POSITION ?

At the end of the matches we took a short break to give the opportunity to the audience and debaters to relax a little.

So, the moment of deliberation came. Hearts are constantly beating , some wept at the moment where others laughed. It's time to say who will be the finalists for the day Wednesday, April 29, 2015.

At the end, here the jury...

SANKORE took it over L.C.O.F.T (115-97)
L.C.G took it over L.E.A.C (107-105)

Therefore, we give you rendez-vous this coming wednesday, April 29th, same time same place, for the FINAL between LCG and SANKORE as well as for the THIRD PLACE MATCH between LCOFT AND LEAC
