The Kaolack Mother-Child Institute, or l’Institut Mère-Enfant de Kaolack (IMEK), is a non-profit public health organization based in Senegal. IMEK seeks to achieve measurable and sustainable improvements in the health of the Kaolack population, with a special emphasis on the health-related needs of families, women
and children. IMEK’s integrated model for health care delivery, health worker traini

ng, and production of medical knowledge consists of
three mutually reinforcing elements:
• An affordable, high-quality health care delivery network
consisting of four community clinics, a diagnostic center, and a level-one hospital;
• A state-of-the-art nursing school; and
• A collaborative research center specializing in the production of clinical and health-related knowledge. Cutting across these elements is an innovative, results-based management approach emphasizing cost-consciousness, financial sustainability, and long-term investments in human capital.

Aujourd’hui marque l’ouverture officielle d’IMEK Ngane située sur la route de Gossas près de la station SDPP. Cette clinique communautaire offre 2 salles de consultation, 1 salle d’accouchement, 8 lits d’hospitalisation et 2 lits d’observation.

IMEK fournit les soins de santé primaires de haute qualité et aux prix abordables du lundi au vendredi. Le personnel comprend un médecin chef, une sage-femme, une matrone et les infirmiers.
