Cathsco Njala Campus

Yesterday, the Catholic Student Community (CATHSCO) at Njala Campus, under the leadership of H.E. David Sannoh, celebrated its annual Africana Mass 2025, a cultural and spiritually uplifting event.
The celebration brought together current CATHSCO members, emeritus presidents, and representatives from sister organizations, including CATHSCO Bo Campus, the Student Union Government, the Sierra Leone Debating Council, parishioners of St. Theresa's Parish - Njala Zone, lectures and students from across Njala University.
It was a truly remarkable occasion, filled with cultural expressions, and a deep sense of community.
The event reached its climax with the coronation of the youngest crowned King and Queen, along with the formation of a Prince and Princess into the CATHSCO royal family, symbolizing a new chapter of leadership and unity.
Congratulations to our new royalties!
May you continue to lead with faith, wisdom, and a heart for service. 🙏👑

~FAREWELL SPEECH~
My fellow Christians, I approach todays’ farewell with a sense of honour, humility and gratitude for the trust you bestowed in my leadership. I am equally mindful of the sacrifices borne by my executives and the entire membership.
In the past few days, I have been so touched by all the well wishes that we have received. But today, it's my turn to say thank you.
I therefore offer special gratitude to God almighty for his stewardship in my life and that of my administrators. I want to thank all Cathsco members for the confidence, trust and support they showed during my reign as president. And to the membership of St. Theresa church community for their welcoming embrace. I extend my appreciation to the Njala University administration for their endless effort to provide us with knowledge and guidance throughout our educational years.
On this day eleven months ago, we gather because we choose hope, unity of purpose over conflict and discord. On this day, we came to proclaim an end to our petty grievances. On this day I was inaugurated president of this noble family.
My reign as president drew inspirations from the three words which changed the course of history “YES WE CAN”.
It was yes, we can because many doubted the achievability of our dream for CATHSCO but with collaborative effort and support we achieved our goals. If history says Patrick’s executive is exceptional — not that our we were flawless from the start, but that we have shown the capacity to change and make CATHSCO better. Yes, our progress was uneven. The work of God has always been hard. And for all the real progress that we've made, we know it's not enough.
But together we made history. Yes we did.
In reaffirming the greatness of our CATHSCO, we must understand that greatness is never given. It must be earned. Our CATHSCO has never been one that settle for less. It has not been for those that prefer leisure over work, or seek only the pleasures. Rather, it has been the risk-takers, the doers, the makers of things in this church.
Therefore, what is required of us now is a new era of responsibility -- a recognition on the part of every CATHSCO member that we have duties to ourselves, our organization and the church; duties that we do not grudgingly accept, but rather seize gladly, firm in the knowledge that there is nothing so satisfying to the spirit, so defining of our character than giving our all to a difficult task of working for God. So let us mark this day with remembrance of who we are and how far we are ready to go.
Let it be told to the future generation. Let it be said by our children's children that in the time when the world is full of pleasure, that when we were in university, we young people gave our energy, we gave our time to work and support the kingdom of our maker and God's grace upon us, we carried forth that great gift and delivered it safely to future generations.
Fellow Christians, I am asking you to hold fast to that faith enshrined in our catholic doctrine; I’m asking you to believe. Not just in the ability of the elected president to bring about change — but in yours to make CATHSCO greater. I want us to learn that change only happens when ordinary people get involved and they get engaged, and they come together to demand it.
You were the change. You answered the hopes of my administration, and because of you, by almost every measure, Cathsco is a better, stronger place than it was when we started.
I leave you with this idea “that for all our outward differences, we're all in this together; that we rise or fall as one”.
The book of Ecclesiastes told to us that there’s time for everything. So also, the saying “every good thing must come to an end”.
So today, my historic reign as president has officially come to an end. But this is definitely not end of my support, loyalty and allegiance to CATHSCO.
Even as emeritus, my heart will always be with this family.
Thank you, God bless us all and God bless Cathsco.
