The Department of Political Science and International Relations is an existing Department that was introduced on 2018 at The University of Makeni. The Motto of the Department is "Empowered to Lead"
The Department of Political Science and International Relations is designed to offer a wide range of specialization including, Political Philosophy, Sierra Leone Politics, Comparative Politics, International Relations and Political Theory. We season up these areas of study with a substantial knowledge of global politics, public administration, public policy and public law.
Our department is essential to the birth of a new era of leadership and cooperation in local communities, government and international bodies. The study can help students develop good habits in their future careers and eventually guide the next generation of leaders.
Students of our department will have the opportunity to work not only in government departments, but also represent their country as Ambassadors or Diplomats, attend sessions in foreign court or work in organization whose agendas greatly bear with the interests of Political Scientist. Our department is against partisan and regional politics.
