Peace is the foundation for development effectiveness and development is the opening up of opportunities for people to actively participate in meaning everyone should be involved to preserve peace .

Peace and Development
Peace and development are intertwined therefore a process to which all people need to contribute but cannot actively contribute if their basic needs are not met, this includes all the positive attitudes and values that make people reach the highest standards of living. It is related to the core values of development namely
1. Life sustenance - the ability to provide basic human need, these include indisputably food, shelter, health and protection. When any of this is absent or critically in short supply, I may say that a condition of absolute under development exist hence economic development is a necessary condition for the improvement in the quality of life.
2. Self-esteem - to be a person, a second universal component of good life and an element of peace. A sense of worth and self respect of not use as a tool by others for their own ends. All people seek some forms of dignity and respect but when the basic needs are lacking, they look at themselves inferior and can be use by others only to make ends meet
3.Freedom - to be to choose. Freedom here is not to be understood in the political and ideological sense but freedom from social servitude of men to nature, ignorance. Freedom involved the expended range of choices for members of societies.

Community peace educator (Cope) is a the brain works of the United Nations as pioneer is a product of the UNHCR trained as peace education facilitator in 2001 in Liberia and was engaged in conducting community workshops for refugees and host community to peacefully coming. Upon returning home would like to continue propagating the message peace in rural communities where for most times family members see themselves as enemies during and after elections which retards the development of the community. To take up the challenge Cope was established to champion the cause of peaceful communities through education. Goal 16 of the sustainable development goals 2030, and therefore rely on the United Nations for support to carry out the responsibility and is therefore soliciting this support to actively engage the youths through capacity building, a corner stone of the present government.

Everyone desire peace but the lack skills and values that promote peace therefore for peace to prevail in the world, there is need to build human potentials to peacefully coexist.

Peace is desired by all but very little is done to learn the skills and values that promote pdaceful co-existence

Peace and conflict
We must recognize that the transition from conflict to Peace is more problematic than from Peace to conflict. The ending f a conflict is a specific enterprise.it belongs neither to Peace nor to war,just as a bridge is different from either bank it connects. The termination of a conflict is therefore a special activity and needs special attention.

Empathy
Empathy is the ability to feel things from the other person's point of view.
Empathy means understanding (not necessarily agreeing with ) why a person acts in a particular way.If you truly put yourself in the position of the other person then it is often possible to see why people act the way they do..
