We are committed to creating affordable, high quality, innovative schools that not only equip our students with academic excellence but with the motivation and character to thrive in the workplace and everyday life. To do this we are committed to three principles of education:

* Communication - all our students will leave their Rising Academy as excellent readers, writers and speakers of English.
* Entrepreneurship - Rising students will learn how to make things happen - to solve problems and use their initiative, so that they leave prepared to deal with how the world works today
*Leadership and Service - Rising Students recognise their responsibilities to their fellow students, to their families and communities, and to their country. In doing so they learn to exercise leadership and see themselves as leaders. To achieve this vision for education Rising Academies creates schools that are:

SAFE Our schools create an appropriate environment for learning, with a longer school day and a longer school year to ensure that students spend more time engaged in productive activities. MODERN Our schools use a blended learning approach, combining simple, low-cost technology as a routine part of every lesson with modern, effective teaching practices based on the best know-how from around the world about how children learn. OPEN Our schools are open to visitors open to scrutiny. Like the region as a whole, we celebrate local culture and traditions while being open to global ideas. We keep parents informed and involved in the life of our schools and in their children’s learning. WELL-RUN Our schools are staffed by motivated teachers, overseen by experienced school managers. We have zero tolerance for absenteeism or misconduct. We make it easy for parents to raise any concerns, and we deal with them swiftly. Because we expect nothing but the best from our students, we expect nothing but the best from our staff. We are Rising.

Across all of Rising’s government partnerships more than 3000 teachers and school leaders went through the Rising Institute.

Sierra Leone's National Primary School Examination (NPSE) results published last week saw Rising students register some of the strongest results in the country.

Rising students achieved an average aggregate score of 303.5, the fifth highest average score out of the 4,635 schools in the country, according to the official report from the Ministry of Basic and Senior Secondary Education (MBSSE).

57 Rising students sat the exam from Rising's four campuses and all passed. The total number of passes is higher than any other school in the top 10.

This 100% pass rate for Rising compares to 81.2% nationwide and 88.2% for other private schools, while Rising’s average aggregate score of 303.5 compares to a national average of 249.1 for all students and 264.0 for private school students.

Results were extremely consistent across Rising's four primary school campuses. If they were treated as separate schools rather than a single entity, they would fill 4 of the top 9 places in the school rankings.

We were also delighted to see continued evidence of gender equity. At Rising, girls out performed boys (average score of 304.0 vs 302.8 for boys), whereas nationally they did slightly worse than boys (248.7 vs 249.6)

Huge congratulations to the students for making us so proud, and thanks to our parents, teachers, school leaders and support staff for their hard work in supporting this achievement. 💜✅

Technology is a powerful tool. It drives our appetite to learn and we believe using the right tools will deliver even better results.

We've just introduced Rori, Rising’s maths chatbot tutor on WhatsApp and it's free to use. Just click this link https://rori.ai and see how it works.

Also, our own HQ Andrew Steven Boima has been working with students from Rising Calaba Town, Babadorie, and Waterloo on an innovative Term 3 project.

We've introduced students to a range of computer programs, which they can use to create certificates, invitation cards, envelopes, etc.

And there’s more! We've also introduced these students to a powerful programming language called SCRATCH, which is a tool they can use to develop systematic, creative, and interactive games, stories, animation, etc.

This computer programming language helps students to reason, think systematically, be creative and work collaboratively on unique projects.

That's still not all! Do you remember the tablet technology that was introduced to our primary students? These tablet sessions are helping to transform our student's maths skills and reading abilities. There is more to come with Rising Academy Network. Our first draft is never our final draft, and however well we do, we strive to do better because we are Rising! 💜
