🌼DEPARTMENTAL HEALTH WALK
On Saturday, 2nd May 2026, the Department successfully held its first Departmental Health Walk of its kind. It was an initiative organised under the leadership of the Executive Body 2025/2026, led by Miss Lydia Franstacia John, as part of its planned activities for the academic year.
This milestone event was officially approved by the Departmental Administration, including the Dean of the Faculty, Dr. Francis Sowa (Esq), the Head of Department, and the entire departmental leadership. Their support and guidance were instrumental in making this vision a reality.
The health walk recorded a remarkable turnout, bringing together members of the Departmental Administration, past students, and current students from Diploma to Final Year. Participants were dressed in white polo shirts, symbolizing unity, simplicity, and togetherness.
The walk commenced at Congo Cross with a vibrant atmosphere filled with excitement, networking, and fellowship as participants journeyed together in a well coordinated and enjoyable environment.
The event concluded at Aberdeen Beach Roundabout, where engaging games and recreational activities were held, involving past students, former departmental presidents, and current students. Notably, the First Year students distinguished themselves by winning most of the games, adding a lively and competitive spirit to the occasion.
The programme officially closed with a vote of thanks delivered by the Executive President, Miss Lydia Franstacia John, who expressed sincere appreciation to all who contributed to the success of the event.
The Executive Body extends its heartfelt gratitude to everyone who participated, supported, and contributed in any way to the success of this historic Departmental Health Walk. This achievement reflects unity, collaboration, and the shared commitment of the department community.
