Her Future Foundation (HFF-SL) was established in early 2014, The former name was called Children Education Foundation (CEF).
Children’s Education Foundation (CEF-SL) was established in early 2014. CEF-SL is working assiduously in ensuring that children living in deprived and vulnerable communities in Koinadugu and its surrounding have access to equal and quality education. Through advocacy dedication and the vision for promoting children’s education and welfare, the foundation works to protect children and youths from a
ll forms of domestic violence and human right abuses leading to educational drop out and promote their basic fundamental human rights such as education, welfare, protection, freedom of speech and inclusion in decision making, etc. The foundation is of the option that education and welfare is the basic fundamental sure route of escaping extreme poverty and increase human resource and capital. Considering the high rate of child marriage, child labor and teenage pregnancy which has lasting negative impact on children’s education, health and emotional wellbeing, the foundation is geared to addressing these problems affecting children and youths at all level.
“This negative practice given above affects our country’s economy, human resource development, innovation and will lead to an intergenerational increase of poverty if not address”. It is therefore the responsibility and vision of CEF-SL to ensure that children and youths in deprived and venerable communities are safe, provided with “better accessible, equal and quality education, health and sanitation”. These vices affecting our country and its human and socio-economic development need serious attention which the foundation is leading to eradicate in other to ensure that children and youths of Sierra Leone grow to attain and maximize their fullest potentials. Increasing access to high quality and safe schooling is a strong solution in ending child marriage, child labor, teenage pregnancy and other factors limiting children and youth empowerment, ensuring that out of school children and youths including marriage girls have the opportunities to complete their education. Education builds knowledge, open new opportunities and can help shift norms and add values to young people in the country.
