IMATT College has announced an immediate internal investigation into allegations that a member of its staff requested an unofficial payment from a student

25/07/2026

*OFFICIAL STATEMENT FROM IMATT College*
*25th July, 2026*

*RE: MEDIA REPORT CONCERNING ALLEGED UNOFFICIAL PAYMENT REQUEST*

The attention of the Administration of IMATT College has been drawn to a publication by Born 2 Blog concerning allegations made by a student of the College's East End Campus regarding an alleged request for an unofficial payment connected with his academic and examination status.

IMATT College takes this allegation seriously.

The College wishes to make it unequivocally clear that no member of staff is authorised to solicit, receive or negotiate private payments from students outside the College's approved financial procedures and official payment channels.

The allegations contained in the publication are presently allegations and have not, to our knowledge, been independently established. Nevertheless, because they concern matters of academic integrity, financial accountability and the welfare of our students, the College has commenced an immediate internal investigation to establish the facts.

The student concerned or Born 2 blog is invited to submit to the College any receipts, messages, transaction records, recordings, correspondence or other evidence relating to the alleged payment so that these materials can be independently examined as part of the investigation.

The member of staff referred to in the allegation will equally be afforded a fair opportunity to respond.

The College will also examine the student's academic and examination records to establish the precise circumstances surrounding his alleged inability to enter the examination hall.

IMATT College will not prejudge either the complainant or the member of staff concerned. If the investigation establishes misconduct by any member of staff, appropriate disciplinary and other measures will be taken in accordance with the College's policies and applicable law. Equally, if material aspects of the allegations are found to be inaccurate, the College will place the correct facts before the public.

IMATT College recognises the important role of responsible journalism, social media commentators and appreciates Born 2 Blog's decision to seek the College's response and to acknowledge that the allegations have not been independently verified.

The College remains committed to academic integrity, transparent financial administration, fairness to students and accountability in all its operations.

Students are reminded that all authorised College payments must be made only through officially approved payment channels and supported by appropriate institutional documentation or receipts. Students should immediately report any request for private or unofficial payments to the College Administration.

IMATT College respectfully requests that the public allow the fact-finding process to be completed before conclusions are drawn concerning either the student, the staff member concerned or the institution.

A further statement will be issued if and when appropriate.
