King Fahad Islamic Senior Secondary School- Wellington

*King Fahad orientates new pupils, highlights the importance of different departments and encourages students to work hard.*

The Almighty King Fahad Islamic Senior Secondary School situated at Wellington, Freetown held an orientation program today, 20th October, 2021 at the school campus.

In the welcome address, the principal, Mr. Abdul Karim Fofanah assured all new pupils that choosing King Fahad is never a mistake. They will never regret making such a decision.

"This school has been doing extremely well in all aspects of academia. My teachers are not only trained and qualified but also competent to handle their different subjects; hence, choosing King Fahad is not a mistake." The principal said.

In addressing the pupils, the HoD of the science department, Mr. ML Kamara mentioned the possible areas of study a science student may pursue upon completion of high school. Rounding off his statement, Mr. MLK opined that, the Science Department is the best.

The HoD of commercial, Mr Komeh, while digging out the many benefits that awaits pupils of his department mentioned that, all departments are subservient to his because, they (commercials) man the economy.

The topmost staff of the Art Department, Mr Massaqui elaborated on the advantages the Art Department has over all other departments. He emphasized the importance of communication and public speaking as well as the queens language; stating that a communicator can work in any organisation, institution, corporation and or association.

A senior Staff of the school, Mr Mohamed Marcus Conteh affirmed the statements of Massaqui; adding that, understanding French, English, and Arabic languages puts a student at an advantageous position in the cooperate world.

Students showcased their dancing talents and an SSS One student gave the vote of thanks.

*Principal Admonishes Staff Members; Outlines the Institutional goals of this (first) term, and motivates teachers to continue the good work.*

In an August Meeting held on Thursday, 14 October, 2021, the principal of King Fahad Islamic Senior Secondary School admonished staff members, stating the direction to which the school is heading.

In his welcome address, the principal, Mr. Abdul Karim Fofanah expressed his appreciation for the proactiveness of teachers in the preceding years; stating that approximately 1000 students chose King Fahad as their first school of choice this year. This he said, is the progeny of the efforts of staff.

Principal Fofanah further spurred teachers to always be regular and punctual in honor of their duties in school; emphasizing that school hours range from 1pm to 5:55pm.

Talking on sport activities and their financial involvements, the principal mentioned that more preparations are supposed to be made as regards to the competitions the school has at hand. "I'm very competitive." The principal said.

In congratulating members of staff who have recently been approved by WAEC as Examiners upon his recommendation, Principal Fofanah confirmed that the school now has 25 WAEC examiners; as such, they must prepare the pupils in line with requirements of WAEC.

Summarizing the meeting, the principal appointed few members to give their contributions, and announced that an orientation session for the newly admitted pupils will materialize on Wednesday, 20th October, 2021.

Messrs ML Kamara and Sankoh emphasized that newly approved WASSCE examiners must be very scrupulous in doing their job; as the job is full of temptations that could lead to detentions.
