In Parliament today, 23/2/21 during the approval of new appointees, Hon KKY praised Hon. Justice Miatta Samba for her meteoric rise in the judiciary and her appointment as both a Justice of the Supreme Court and a Judge at the International Criminal Court. He reminded the learned judge and her colleagues from the bench who came to support her, that the survival of Sierra Leone's nascent democracy is in their hands. He cited the recent US experience where, thanks to an independent , professional and God-fearing judiciary, the most powerful man in the world (the US president) was not allowed to debase democracy; all levels of the judiciary rejected his false claims of electoral fraud. KKY prayed that in the defence of Country Fos, Justice Miatta Samba will imbue the key values of independence, integrity, and impartial justice in our country's highest bench.

TONKO LIMBA CSM BRANCH MET FOR THE FIRST TIME:
Sunday Jan 19th 2020 the civil society movement met for the first time to revitalize the movement in order to follow the trend at which the District is moving towards Reformation and change. In our attendance today we had 7 members some new and old to see the way forward. We primarily discussed on the vision of the district executive and how we can set our composition at Chiefdom level, register it with the district body, invitation of various CSO's to register, letter to Chiefdom stakeholders drawing their attention on our body and inviting various CSO's to a general meeting.
They are happy about the proactive role played by the new district executive and want such to happen here. The old membership gave their dismay towards the old executive and advise for the new structure to be committed and stand for the voiceless.
The raised concern for inclusion from the district and don't want the same thing to happen as the previous district executive marginalised them and they did not benefit anything as regards the movement. We have agreed to stand firm for the lawlessness and misconduct happening in the Chiefdom especially the recent impasse between the bike riders and motor drivers in the past Friday Luma that was evacuated and left many business people losing a lot and business was disrupted and husband were deprived from getting their weekly house hold good items.
Finally,we agreed to be meeting twice a month and work hard for the registration and letter getting the identity card

The 7 fully loaded arrested trailer vehicles handed over to the police by the Resident Minister Northwest for investigation on alleged forgery and illegal exportation are still in police custody at Bamoi Luma. Says Chief Superintendent ITZ Tarawalie.

Police Local Unit Commander Chief Superintendent Ibrahim Theophilus Zackariah Tarawalie said he is on his way to Freetown to make comparison with the original copy document un possession of the Ministry of Trade and Industry and that the has no problem with any of the drivers of the 7 trailers but the claimant.

To know how far is the investigation gone by popular demand, the Crime Officer Superintenent N'gaima told CSM-Kambia that the LUC has left for Freetown to verify the authenticity of the documents tendered by Piltu Clearing and Forwarding Agency. Also, on his visit at the scene of crime, he demanded the keys of the trailers and the drivers from the Foreign Office but he was denied access to all.

Suspect in this matter in question currently at liberty has promised to export more domestic timbers to Guinea regardless the questions raised on the legitimacy of his current export permit.

Who should lead the investigation of such a high profile crime where somebody is accused of forgery and illegal export bothof which are serious enemies to economic growth.

*Resident Minister Northwest Steps Hard on Illegal Domestic Timber Exportation at the Sierra Leone/Guinea Border*

This happened following an intelligence from members of the public that the said 7 arrested Guinean registered trailer vehicles loaded full with thousands of pieces of domestic timbers were allegedly on route to the neighboring Guinea with the use of fake evidence of tax payment.

Upon the arrival of the Resident Minister Northwest at the scene of crime (Bamoi Luma) on Sunday, several documents were tendered for inspection to prove the legitimacy of the exportation deal between the Ministry of Trade on one hand and Piltu Clearing and Forwarding Agency on the other and these includes an export authorization document issued by the Ministry of Trade and Industry, the National Revenue Authority and the Sierra Leone Police. During the inspection of the documents listed above, the document issued by the Trade Ministry was discovered shrouded with lots of abnormalities thus making it appeared like a fudge document.

Sadly, during the interrogations by the Resident Minister Hon. Haja Isata Abdulai Kamara this afternoon at the Foreign Office of Piltu Clearing and Forwarding Agency at Bamoi Luma, so many questions relating to the legitimacy of the export document the Guinean owned company has been using all these years, specifically that issued by the Ministry of Trade and the Police were left unswered.

The said arrested local commodity loaded in 7 Guinean registered trailer vehicles have been handed over to the Police for further investigations by the Resident Minister Northwest, Hon. Haja Isata Abdulai Kamara

UPDATES FROM CONAKRY, GUINEA.

Sierra Leone's Ambassador to Guinea His Excellency Alimamy H. Bangura has to cut short his official vacation to Freetown and return to Conakry in the early hours of Thursday 2 January 2020 to get first hand information with regards circumstances leading to the death of a Sierra Leonean woman Madam NanahKamara who was stabbed to death by her husband Karim Bangura on the 31st December 2019.

Immediately after preforming the act on his wife Karim also stabbed himself. He died the following day in Conakry.

On arrival in Conakry this morning the Sierra Leonean top diplomat in Guinea hurriedly convene a meeting of Sierra Leonean community including stakeholders like the Sierra Leone Defence Attache' Major S.S Jalloh and the National Union at his official residence in Kipe, Conakry.

At the meeting H.E Alimamy Bangura expressed regret over the incident and prayed that the soul of the departed woman rest in perfect peace. He however thanked the sierra Leone National Union President Daniel Forna and team for championing activities of our Sierra Leonean brothers and sisters in Guinea. "I am proud of you guys, you have always being there for us, you made our work easy as an embassy your effective collaborations has enable us to succeed" Amb. Alimamy disclosed.

With humidity , the firmed spoken diplomat presented the sum of Four Million Two Hundred Thousand GF to the National Union for preparations ahead of the burial ceremony of the two late couples on Friday 3rd January at 2pm in Conakry.

The attention of the leadership of the Civil Society Movement in Kambia District has been drawn to the lawless behaviour of some members of the District Health Management Team which has caused unnecessary burden on the Government of Sierra Leone and deprivation on our impoverished communities over the years.

CSM-Kambia has made frantic efforts to get the team leader of the DHMT to discuss several issues amongst which is the reckless use of public property specifically vehicles and motor bikes assigned to the district for effective and efficient health service delivery by individuals who are not Government employed drivers in the DHMT but to no avail.

As we speak, dozens of Government vehicles assigned to the Kambia District Health Management Team including one that was donated for drugs distribution and yet to be commission for use are out of the district on personal purpose(s).

This has been identified by many in the district as the reason for the many grounded government vehicles that were assigned to individuals also littering the hospital compound with major and minor problems awaiting Government physical and financial support.

Salone attitude na problem to national growth. Take a look at closed public office doors and an empty DHMT car park since Friday. This is happening at a time the district is on the "Watch Mode" for Lasser Fever says the lead District Emergency Operations Centre.
