CHANCELLOR SESAY INVITED TO EUROPE (ITALY & PORTUGAL) FOR EU ERASMUS+ PROJECT

By : Mariama Precious Hallaby

Our Chancellor, Dr. Muckson Sesay, has just arrived in Rome, Italy, and will continue on to Portugal on September 22, 2025, to begin an important international mission.

Dr. Sesay has been invited to participate in two prestigious technical visits under the EU Erasmus+ “Waste Reduction and Management – WARM Project”:

University of Basilicata (Matera/Potenza, Italy) – 14th to 21st September 2025

University of Évora (Portugal) – 22nd to 28th September 2025

These back-to-back visits highlight the growing recognition of Central University as an emerging leader in research, sustainability, and higher education innovation. They also align with our commitment at Mile 91 to advancing environmental solutions, including the establishment of our Agroecology & Waste Management Lab.

Through this engagement, Central University continues to extend its influence beyond Sierra Leone, shaping global dialogue while expanding opportunities for our students and faculty.

We wish our Chancellor every success as he represents us with distinction.

More update coming soon …

From Theory to Practice!
On Tuesday, 17th June 2025, students from the Department of Business Administration and Management, Accounting and Finance, and Project Management at Central University embarked on an educational field trip to the 25MW Project Site at Makoth, Makeni, one of Sierra Leone’s leading independent power producers generating electricity for EDSA.

This hands-on experience visit allowed students to explore the intersections of project management and business operations in a real-world corporate setting. With guidance from the site’s expert staff, students had a site tour on key phases of project execution—from planning and coordination to risk management, operational efficiency, and sustainability.

As part of the trip, students also made brief but meaningful stops at the University of Lunsar, Ernest Bai Koroma University (Makeni Campus), and the NASSIT Regional Office( Makeni), gaining further exposure to institutional and administrative operations.

We sincerely thank the management and staff of Planet Solar Energy Ltd for their warm hospitality and extend special appreciation to our HoD, Mr. Abdul Augustus Kamason, and the Central University Administration for making this enriching experience possible.

We explored. We learned. We connected. We experienced.
Join us today and be part of the Central University Community.

Fellow Soon-to-be Graduates,

Congratulations to each of you who made it, we did it! The road here wasn’t easy (Nope it was not), late nights, and real sacrifices. But we endured, and now we stand ready to celebrate and face the future with pride. To those who didn’t make it just yet don’t be discouraged. Delay is not denial. Sometimes, life slows us down to prepare us for something greater. You were one of us, and you’ll always be one of us. Your time is coming and when it does, it will be worth the wait.

As we step into the real world, let’s be honest, it’s tough out there. The job market is demanding, and the corporate world can be frustrating. But don’t let that shake you. Keep learning, keep growing. The classroom may be behind us, but the lessons never stop. Stay curious, stay sharp, and stay hungry, We are Centralists✊.

We also take this moment to Muckson Sesay Snr Ph.D., Founder, CEO, and Chancellor of Central University, for blessing us with this great institution a place that has empowered us to pursue knowledge and build our futures. Your vision and leadership have been a gift to us all. Our gratitude extends as well to the Dean of Faculty, Head of Department, and every lecturer who stood by us, challenged us, and helped shape us into the graduates we are today. Your impact is lasting, and we are truly grateful.

On behalf of the BAMAF Society, I salute you all. Congratulations, Class of 2024! Go out there and make your mark.

Warm regards,
Ibrahim Acha Sesay
President, BAMAF Society

𝗕𝗔𝗠𝗔𝗙 𝗦𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗲𝘁𝘆 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗼𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗠𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗮𝗴𝗲

The Business Administration and Management, Accounting and Finance (BAMAF) Society at Central University expresses its deepest condolences to the families, friends, and the entire university community following the tragic loss of three students in the month of September.

We mourn the passing of 𝗝𝗼𝗵𝗻 𝗝𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗵 (𝗝𝟱), 𝗮 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁-𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝗔𝗴𝗿𝗶𝗰𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁, 𝘄𝗵𝗼 𝗽𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗼𝗻 𝗦𝗲𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟰, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟰; 𝗞𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗲 𝗠𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗮𝗾𝘂𝗼𝗶, 𝗮 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁-𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 𝗦𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗡𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺, 𝘄𝗵𝗼 𝗽𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗼𝗻 𝗦𝗲𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟵, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟰; 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗔𝗯𝗱𝘂𝗹 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗵, 𝗮 𝘀𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗱-𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗽𝘂𝗿𝘀𝘂𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻 𝗛𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗿𝘀 𝗗𝗲𝗴𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗕𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗜𝗻𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘆, 𝘄𝗵𝗼 𝗽𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗼𝗻 𝗦𝗲𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟭𝟴, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟰.

Each of these students was dedicated, hardworking, and full of potential. Their absence leaves a deep void in our hearts and within the Central University community. We pray for strength and comfort for their families and loved ones during this incredibly difficult time. May their souls rest in eternal peace in the embrace of the Almighty.

As we reflect on this tremendous loss, we take solace in the words of Helen Keller: “𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘄𝗲 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗼𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗲𝗻𝗷𝗼𝘆𝗲𝗱, 𝘄𝗲 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗻𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗹𝗼𝘀𝗲. 𝗔𝗹𝗹 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘄𝗲 𝗹𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝗱𝗲𝗲𝗽𝗹𝘆 𝗯𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘀 𝗮 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝘂𝘀.”

Though they are no longer with us, their memories and impact will live on in our hearts.
