My name is KARGBO KEMOH DENIS, and I am a third-year student majoring in Economics. I am a participant and trainee in the Leadership and Public Speaking Masterclass at the Peace Museum, thanks to the kind invitation of the PATRIOTIC ADVOCACY NETWORK (PAN). The class started on September 2, 2024.

I have this opportunity to improve my public speaking and leadership skills, which are vital in my life as an individual and as a professional.

The FREETOWN POLYTECHNIC DEBATING COUNCIL, headed by the esteemed Honorable ABDULAI SAHID TENCOID CONTEH JUNIOR, dispatched me to learn leadership and public speaking skills.

This training is very important, as it gives me the essential tools to lead and communicate effectively within my institution and in the community at large. I hope with all my heart that the skills I am acquiring will serve not only me but also my peers and the community at Freetown Polytechnic.

I assure you that by the time we reach the conclusion of this masterclass, I will have made a tangible and positive impact on my institution, my colleagues in the field of academia, and, by extension, the Freetown Polytechnic Debating Council (FPDC).

The mission I have embarked upon here is one of service to my institution, the Freetown Polytechnic, and I am steadfast in my resolve to apply what I have learned in this masterclass to cultivate a culture of excellence and leadership among my fellow students.

In summary, I hope for the smooth continuation of the positive evolution of the FPDC, under the leadership of both the current executive and the soon-to-be-installed next executive.

I embrace, too, the growing community of debaters in the Freetown Polytechnic (and its surrounding socioacademic turf) as worthy new members of the Freetown Polytechnic Debating Council.

I hope the memories and spirit captured here serve all of us, in debate or otherwise, who call Freetown Polytechnic home.
