Seven years ago and counting, when I was informed by Thomas Mansaray, Headteacher and an old boy of the Yembeh Man's Preparatory School, that under his reigns, the School is scaling to a new level and that its outstanding performances in the NPSE have continued to be progressional, myself being an old boy of the said School and because I used to be the best pupil and not one of the best pupils during my regime, I had first thought he just wanted to ridicule my regime being that he knows very well that ours was formidable. I further thought of him being comical and was just making a self-impression. Not until when I began doing voluntary part-time teaching there in 2016, I couldn't have agreed more with my boss and better still confirmed that the outstanding performance of my regime in the NPSE was the least in the history of the School. I was so confident that our succeeding batches will never do it better than ours, not envisaging that my regime will someday be considered as the weakest. This is no hyperbolism. It is the fact.
Today, with a lot more to show for it, I celebrate the leadership positive traits of my boss. Discussed below are a few of his achievements.
1. Continued to produce the best NPSE result and the highest overall passes numbers.
2. Introduced an innovative approach to education that truly nurtures and impacts the creativity of the pupils while enhancing their ability to successfully cope with modern-day learning.
3. Implemented strategies that aim to create an environment that takes pupils well beyond the normal ‘question and answer’ process associated with learning.
4. Created the opportunity for pupils to took part in and won public academic competitions.
5. Revolutionized the learning process in a bid to enhance the pupils' self-esteem and confidence in public speaking.
6. Imbibed a culture of tidiness, respect, good hygiene practices and moral values amongst pupils.
7. Reviewed the school curriculum to make it better contemporaneous.
8. Recruited more teachers and support staffs to improve the learning process.
9. Increased salaries for teachers and support staffs.
10. Developed an advance examination format that is merit-based.
11. Introduced an entrance examination for admission of continuing pupils from other schools.
12. Made the school a household name as well as enviable to other schools within the same jurisdiction.
The list goes on...
I can't be prouder of my boss. A big kudos I say to him. Keep it up!
