BRIGHT START SIERRA LEONE TECHNICAL SKILLS PROGRAM HAS A SUSTAINABLE AND PRODUCTIVE OUTCOME.

Moving around the community Have encountered five graduates who have started their own businesses in Tailoring and Computer Services.

This is Fatish one of the graduates, she has started her own business. Fortunately, I met her with a sewing contract from a primary School to design uniforms and Sashes.

This is what we mean, sustainable youth empowerment. As it stands, we are still recruiting young people to learn ICT AND TAILORING.

To ensure the Bright Start Technical skills program become sustainable, as part of the project plan we have officially opened the Bright Start Tailoring and Fashion Workshop. This Workshop is to create an employment opportunity for our trained Tailoring Graduates, this can also enhance income generation, economic growth and poverty reduction for our project participants.
You can also be a contributor to supporting these young women and Girls by awarding sowing contracts to them.

On the 22nd May 2024, Bright Start- Sierra Leone has officially Launched the Bright Start Technical Skill Program and unveiled 40 young people that will benefit from this technical skills training program. This initiative's goal is to “Empower Young People Through Technical and Market Ready skills in Tailoring and ICT."
The launching brought together community stakeholders and other NGO partners including Plan International Sierra Leone, the donor. At the program launch was the Village Headman Devil Hole Community Mr James Osman Brown who committed to offering full support to the project as the impact it will create is enormous.
Uniquely, the launching was an opportunity to certified past students of Bright Start Sierra Leone's ICT training program.

It is orientation day as Bright Start Sierra Leone kicks off it's youth training skills program funded by Plan International Sierra Leone. The organisation received over 60 applications for the computer and tailoring course. Selected candidates arrived with a lot of energy and enthusiasm to learn and apply their skills towards income generating engagement. We look forward to our time training the students and working with them to develop ideas and pathways after training.
