Management Supervisor
Responsibilities
• Assign, organize and delegate responsibilities to team members.
• Supervise all organic Integrated Pest Management (IPM) field protocols and reporting in both nucleus and outgrower plantations.
• Oversee palm and black bunch census and report accurately to superiors.
• Conduct IPM trainings and contribute to continuous improvement of team members and outgrower farmers in the catchment areas of the company.
• Ensure effective and efficient cost management of resources at his/her disposal.
• Enforce and maintain the HSE policies and procedures of the company for team members.
• Participate in all internal and external certification audits e.g. RSPO etc.
• Assume any other responsibilities that may be assigned by the line manager.
Qualifications
• High school, vocational or occupational certificate and above.
• A minimum of 3 years experience in Oil Palm Integrated Pest Management.
Competencies
• Leadership and problem solving skills.
• Knowledge in MicroSoft office applications.
• Team player.

Today Goldtree’s grader completed the grading of the crossing point from Daru to the Goldtree plantation after the contractor provided the backfilling material. This road links a vast area of the interior within the Kailahun District. Comments from people in Daru and some Goldtree staff say they have not seen the road in this condition for over 15 years or more so great development for the district. Goldtree has completed grading more than 40 km of roads in the Jawei and Malema chiefdoms and work continues.

Planting Naturals Group, owns Goldtree Sierra Leone Limited is an Agriculture Company based in Daru, Kailahun District with working with over 7,300 small-holder farmers. In addition, Goldtree has its own oil palm plantations in Daru, Zimmi, and Rutile.
Job Description
Goldtree in Daru has recently acquired new yellow equipment for road works and has begun the repairs of many roads within the districts of operation. In addition, it has also acquired ten new trucks to add to its current fleet for the transportation of palm fruit (FFB).
The Company now seeks a well-disciplined, reliable, highly organized person with impeccable integrity to join the Company. Applicants should have extensive experience in managing a large fleet of vehicles both own and contractors as well as understanding the requirements needed for road making and be able to manage and move equipment around in the most effective and efficient way, maximizing output at the lowest cost. The individual will work closely with the General Manager and Out-Grower Manager to ensure seamless logistics and road works are in place.
Specific Responsibilities
The Logistics & Road Works Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising the fleet of trucks to ensure all FFB is collected on time. In addition to oversee and manage construction, maintenance, and repair of roads and infrastructure. This role ensures projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with safety and quality standards. The manager acts as the link between contractors, government authorities, engineers, and the public.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Planning & Management
• Oversee the management of the company’s fleet and contractors to ensure timely collection of FFB is made both from smallholder and from the various plantations around the country.
• Oversee and manage the logistic department drivers to ensure discipline, care for vehicles and preventative maintenance is done in time.
• Provide accurate accounting of 3rd party contractor works and ensure seamless information is provided to the finance department for payment of contractors.
• Develop work schedules, allocation plans for road projects.
• Oversee daily operations of road construction and maintenance activities.
• Ensure compliance with local regulations, environmental standards, and safety codes.
Team Leadership
• Supervise truck and yellow equipment drivers / operators, supervisors, and construction crews.
• Provide training, guidance, and performance evaluations.
• Foster a culture of safety and efficiency on-site and respect RSPO principals by ensuring enforcement of its requirements.
Quality & Safety Assurance
• Monitor construction quality and adherence to specifications.
• Implement and enforce health and safety policies.
• Conduct site inspections and risk assessments.
Stakeholder Coordination
• Liaise with government agencies, contractors, and community representatives.
• Prepare progress reports and present updates to senior management.
Financial & Resource Management
• Monitor fuel usage by regular viewing the FROTCOM, manage cost control, and ensure activities are within budget.
• Ensure optimal use of materials, equipment, and labour.
Experience, qualifications and
Required skills.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in logistics and fleet management and road construction.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills.
• Proficiency in key software and tools.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Effective communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines and when necessary work extra time & weekends to ensure goals are met.
Qualifications
• Relevant qualification in Fleet, Logistics, Construction management, or other related field.
• Mende speaking will be an added advantage.
• RSPO knowledge, environmental regulations, road and vehicle registration laws, knowledge of local conditions

Job Description - The Heavy Duty and Light Vehicle Drivers are responsible for the safe, efficient, and timely transportation of palm fruit (FFB), equipment, and personnel. Extensive experience in operating large articulated rigs with a twin axle horse as well as 20MT tipper trucks is required. All vehicles are GPS tracked with fuel monitoring devices fitted.
Specific Responsibilities Driving & Transportation
• Operate heavy-duty articulated and 20MT dumper trucks to transport FFB and other goods.
• Ensure timely delivery and collection of cargo or passengers as per schedules.
• Careful use of vehicles and adhere strictly to traffic rules, road safety regulations, and company policies.
Vehicle Maintenance
• Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles.
• Report mechanical issues and coordinate with the maintenance team for repairs.
• Keep vehicles clean, fueled, and in good working conditions.
Documentation & Compliance
• Maintain accurate trip logs, delivery notes, and mileage records.
• Ensure proper handling of cargo, including securing loads and preventing damage.
• Comply with all licensing, permits, and regulatory requirements.
Safety & Security
• Follow defensive driving practices to minimize risks.
• Ensure the safety of passengers, goods, and vehicle at all times.
• Report accidents, incidents, or traffic violations promptly.
Experience, qualifications and required skills.
• Valid driver’s license for heavy-duty and/or light vehicles (depending on role).
• Minimum 5 years of proven driving experience with references.
• Clean driving record with no major violations.
• High school education or equivalent preferred.
• Certification in defensive driving or road safety is an advantage.

Goldtree held a 2 day training session on Industrial safety and sensitisation of employee requirements and rights. It was held at the mill where over 200 employees took part. The training was conducted by the Ministry of Labour Factory Inspectorate, lead by their Director, Mr. Conteh. Lunch was provided for all who participated and feedback from employees was extensive and everyone said it was very enlightening and good and the first for Goldtree.

With regards to the World Bank Country Manager visit to Goldtree on the 5th of February 2019, one of our 300 community group farms was visited in Gbaama, Njaluahun chiefdom, Kailahun district, Sierra Leone where the extension department performs extension services (Good agricultural practices, RSPO awareness, Organic farming trainings, gender equality, fair for life etc.)

We think about the future of our farmers!
Since April 2018, Goldtree started with their Organic certification (RSPO/Organic/Fair for Life) project for smallholders.🌴
This is a long-term project that will benefit over 7000 farmers in over 500 villages in Kailahun and Kenema district in the nearby future.
• For 2019, the Certification department has trained over 3000 farmers on the Organic way of farming and on preserving Environmental Conservation areas (such as forests, hills, sacred areas).
• In 2020, Goldtree wants to certify another 4000 farmers by first training them on the environmentally-friendly way of farming.🌴🌴🌴
With this certificate the farmers of Kailahun district will:
• Improve their livelihoods;
• Have better access to the markets;
• Have improved seedlings.
