๐ŸŒฟโœจ Celebrating our final GreenPlace network meeting in Limerick!

From 23โ€“25 September 2025, we visited Limerick, Ireland, to explore and share experiences in urban green regeneration.

From exploring the medieval city walls and the challenges of engaging the community around them, to learning about the work of the Placemaking Department, the Blue-Green Infrastructure Strategy, and the cityโ€™s Biodiversity Action Plan, our study visits took us through the Pollen Patch garden, Limerickโ€™s first inclusive playground, the Hush City noise-measurement app, and the mobile tree nursery.

Presentations, peer reviews, and workshops gave us the chance to reflect on our network journey so far, celebrate what weโ€™ve accomplished together, and look ahead with our Integrated Action Plans.

It was a moment to celebrate collaboration, community, and breathing new life into forgotten corners of the city. ๐Ÿ’š

Check out the beautiful moments from Nitraโ€™s GreenPlace event โ€” with honey tastings, floral bouquet making, guided walks and a fresh look at Martinโ€™s Hill as a space full of potential. ๐ŸŒฟ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ’

๐ŸŒฟ Another great example of how to reconnect people with forgotten or overlooked urban spaces!
Our GreenPlace partner city Nitra invites everyone to discover the hidden gems of Martin's Hill โ€” a place where nature, heritage and creativity come together.

Once an underused area, Martin's Hill is now being brought back to life through beekeeping, cultural events, and community gatherings.

We love seeing how the local honey, flowers, and traditions mix into one inspiring event ๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ๐ŸŒผ

๐Ÿš‰ As you should know, during the first days of the URBACT City Festival, study visits were held at our depot.

๐Ÿ” The visit included a tour of the entire depot area, including the halls with vintage vehicles, the old boiler house at which the testing action site is located, and the bathhouse. We also presented more details about the project in one of the vintage buses ๐ŸšŒ.

โœจ Visitors really liked the depot area, they said it was a magical place and had an amazing atmosphere, especially when it was getting dark outside ๐ŸŒ™. We also got feedback that the depot has a lot of potential. A special attraction was the old boiler room, where everyone spent the most time, climbing to the very top. After the visit, a vintage tram drove people back to the Centennial Hall.

๐Ÿ˜Š It was a wonderfully spent time and we are very happy that our depot made such a great impression on everyone! ๐Ÿ’š
