The first part of Ecounity Day was held 9.12.2025 with our students. The meeting was attended by 61 participants. Students were informed about the project Ecounity by M. Tóth. The second part was held by J. Ridzoň about the CAP and the last part was about Green Deal presented by J. Pokrivčák. All these topics were joined with the Ecounity project.

The new EU agricultural policy in 2028-2034 and its impacts on Slovakia

ECOUNITY DAY

On February 5, 2026, a workshop entitled The new EU agricultural policy in 2028-2034 and its impacts on Slovakia was held in Nitra, at the Faculty of Economics and Management of the Slovak Agricultural University. The event focused on the upcoming Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) of the EU after 2027 and its expected impacts on Slovak agriculture and rural areas.

The workshop was attended by more than 180 participants from among farmers, the professional community, researchers, environmentalists and the media. The discussion focused on budgetary changes, environmental requirements, generational renewal and challenges related to climate change.

The event also included ECOUNITY DAY, during which BirdLife Slovakia presented the issue of sustainability in agriculture and the importance of educating students of economic faculties in the field of natural resource protection and climate issues.

The main goal of the ECOUNITY project is to raise awareness of university students and local actors about sustainable green development and to strengthen cooperation between universities and non-governmental organizations.

Our ECOUNITY project proudly highlights the contribution of our team member Mariusz Sokołowicz at the 5th International Congress on Digital Cities Regeneration held in the city of Lodz on April 9–10, 2025.

Companies can find new revenue streams by reusing materials, selling refurbished products, or even turning waste into valuable raw materials for new products. Consumers, too, can get involved by choosing sustainable products, recycling more, and supporting businesses that prioritize sustainability.

By embracing the circular economy, we can create a future where resources are used efficiently, waste is minimized, and our planet’s health is preserved for generations to come.

Let’s start thinking differently about the items we use every day. What can we repair, reuse, or recycle to make the world a cleaner, more sustainable place?

As the world moves toward more sustainable practices, renewable energy sources like solar and wind power are playing an increasingly vital role in our daily lives. These green energy solutions are helping to reduce our reliance on fossil fuels and significantly decrease harmful greenhouse gas emissions.
Solar panels, which harness the power of the sun, and wind turbines, which capture the energy from the wind, are now more efficient and affordable than ever. These technologies not only help reduce our carbon footprint but also create job opportunities and support the global transition to a low-carbon economy.

🌟 Highlights from the IADERA Conference in Zadar!
From October 9-11, 2024, members of the UNIRI project team, Prof. Bojana Olgić Draženović and Ornella Jadreškić, proudly represented the **ECOUNITY project** at the prestigious IADERA conference. 🌱
This year’s conference tackled a diverse range of topics, from cutting-edge research in AI and digitalization to economic policies and sustainable development strategies. As part of their presentation, titled *“Development of Sustainable Financing in Western Balkan Countries”, the UNIRI team showcased the ECOUNITY project’s innovative approach to curricula and modules on sustainable finance. These modules serve as a blueprint for equipping future generations with the knowledge needed to address global challenges. 🌍

🌍 Highlight from the 19th DRC Summer School in Sarajevo!
From July 16-22, 2024, our team member Ornella Jadreškić, representing the Faculty of Economics and Business at the University of Rijeka, participated in the 19th DRC Summer School on Regional Cooperation in Sarajevo and showcased the transformative potential of the ECOUNITY project. 🌱

As part of her lecture on sustainable policies in the Western Balkans, Ornella introduced ECOUNITY's key activities and its vision to enhance the higher education system for a greener future. The session sparked a dynamic discussion among 19 participants from 10 countries, bringing diverse perspectives and expertise to the table.

The consensus? ECOUNITY is a shining example of how curriculum innovation can pave the way for regional sustainability. 💡
