🔥 MAKE IT HAPPEN

From 8th to 14th November 2026, participants will have the opportunity to join the MAKE IT HAPPEN Training Course in Barcelos, Portugal.

The training course will focus on empowering youth workers to support young people in turning their ideas and interests into meaningful initiatives. Through non-formal education, participants will explore project development, facilitation, participation, creativity, critical thinking, planning and problem solving. 🌱

The project will also provide space for sharing experiences, learning from each other and building new international connections with youth workers from different countries. 🤝🌍

You can talk about facilitation for days. Eventually, someone has to hand you the marker and say: your turn. 😅

We planned and delivered our own workshops, bringing together everything we had explored during the training; non-formal education, learning goals, facilitation, visual tools, group dynamics, and feedback. 🎤

Suddenly, we weren’t thinking about these things separately anymore. We had a real group in front of us, a workshop to guide, time to manage, and moments where we simply had to adapt and see what worked. 👀

Afterwards, we gave each other constructive feedback and reflected on what went well, what surprised us, and what we would approach differently next time. 💬

That’s probably the best way to finish a training like this: not by proving that you can do everything perfectly, but by trying, reflecting, and knowing what you want to improve next. 🌱

We’re leaving Jahodná with new tools, plenty of practice, and ideas that we can now bring into our own work with young people. 🤝

👉 Follow us to see how we take what we learned in Jahodná into our future activities!

There’s always the one who starts talking first… the one full of ideas… and the one quietly observing everything. 👀

Day 5 took us into group dynamics; understanding what happens when different people come together and have to work as a team.

We explored how groups develop over time and looked at different roles people can naturally take within a team. And once you start learning about those patterns, it becomes very hard not to notice them happening in your own group too. 😄

We talked about communication, cooperation, different personalities, and what a facilitator can do when the group needs a little support. 💬

Because working with a group isn’t about making everyone behave or think in the same way. It’s about understanding what’s happening between people and helping them work with those differences. 🌱

And after five days of exploring all of this, there was only one thing left to do: try it ourselves. 👀

👉 Follow us! Next comes the part where we stepped into the facilitator role!

Put a group of different people in one room and… things happen. 👀

Some people naturally take the lead. Some observe first. Some bring ideas. Others make sure everyone is heard. So on Day 5, we explored group dynamics and looked at how groups form, develop, and change over time 🤝

We learned about different team roles and started thinking about what facilitators can notice when working with a group; especially when personalities, communication styles, and perspectives are different 💬

And then came the fun part: once you learn about group dynamics, you inevitably start looking around the room and noticing them happening in your own group too 😅
Understanding people is a big part of understanding facilitation.

👉 Follow us. Because after five days of learning, it was almost time for us to take the facilitator role ourselves!

Young people went out to study how the city impacts them and how they impact the city 🏙 for 5 days in Rzeszów, Poland from 17th August till 29th of August 2026 during a study visit called LeaderShift: Youth Initiatives. ✨

5 days spent in spaces where young people concentrate were filled with discussions and excursions aimed at discovering how cities and young people living in them mutually impact each other. 💫

🌍From exploring different spaces for youth in Rzeszów to discussions about possible improvements in what cities offer to youth and what could youth do for their surroundings the participants shared ideas of how to improve their own home communities. 📈

Sharing ideas, traditions, experiences, and stories with people from many different countries 🧠🎶 while creating memories, having fun, and building friendships that will stay with us and help improve communities all across Europe. 🤍📸🌱

“But I can’t draw!” probably one of the first thoughts when visual facilitation enters the programme. 😅

Luckily, Day 4 wasn’t about becoming artists.

We explored visual facilitation and practised using simple drawings, symbols, colours, lettering, and visual structures to make information easier for a group to understand. ✏️

We grabbed the markers, experimented on paper, and discovered that a very simple visual can sometimes explain an idea faster than another paragraph of text. 👀

And that’s the point: your drawing doesn’t need to be perfect. If people understand what you’re trying to communicate, it’s doing its job.

Our flipcharts may have become a little more colourful after this day… and we’re definitely not complaining. 🌈

👉 Follow us to see more of what we tried and learned in Jahodná!
