13th Tomodachi no Iaido Keiko - 13.-15.02.2026 Kosice, Slovakia

Traditionally non-traditional, the main theme of this event remains the same. We practiced, we learned, we had a lot of fun and worked together to improve.
We wrote history by organizing the first ever Iaido Yondan gradings in the Slovak Kendo Federation.
What more could you ask for? 🙂

Many thanks to all who made this possible, all the teachers who have shared their knowledge and experience:
Andy Watson sensei
Gábor Hábermajer sensei
Lukasz Machura sensei
Michal Szczepanski sensei
Michal Kolisek sensei
Pavel Balvin sensei

May thank to all participant who with their presence made the event the biggest Tomodachi no Iaido keiko in Košice till now.

Many thanks to all dojo members of Shin Junsui Dojo for their hard work during the 3 days, keeping everting silky smooth from the organizational point of view 😉

And of course congratulations to all successful grading candidates, your hard work paid off. 🎉

The main idea of the Tomodachi no Iaido Keiko from the beginning was
friendship - cooperation - community,
these basic values should shape who we are and how we live not just our Budo lives.

I’m grateful for all of you who share this way of thinking and support the event for many years.

Looking forward to seeing you next year in Košice for the 14th Tomodachi no Iaido Keiko 2027.

Best regards

21.-23.11.2025 - Autumn Iaido Koryu Seminar, Hradec Králové, Czech Republic

Under the lead of Andy Watson sensei and Oliver Jarvis sensei we had an amazing long weekend dedicated to the exploration of the known and unknown depths of Muso Shinden Ryu.
The understanding and correct ex*****on were on the top of our bucket list for the event.

If you were there you know 😉 if you were not, believe me, you missed out on a great event.

Many thanks to all sensei and the organizational team for creating a wonderful event which, we all hope, will continue next year.

07.-09.11.2025 - 32nd EIC - Prague, Czech Republic

The standard procedure we all know 😉

Friday: seminar with the ZNKR delegation, Yamazaki Akimasa and Kumeda Takahiro sensei. Detailed explanation of all 12 ZNKR kata, the beginning and finishing reiho and some insight on how to perform the suwariwaza forms standing. 🫶🏻

Saturday: individual competition, from our dojo we did well. Erika Gogolova Kulcsarova, Oli, Matej and myself managed to get out of the pools and continue in the KO system. Having good fights and showing our best. I’m very proud of us even though we could not get any of the nice medals 😉 maybe next time.

Sunday: team competition day and grading in the afternoon. Slovakia did amazing and we were just one match from getting to the top 4. All guys in the team did well. 🙂
Erika passed her godan grading and Matej his sandan in the afternoon so there were many reasons to celebrate 🎉

Thank you all for an amazing event and the great time, the best thing about all seminars is meeting old friends and making new ones. 🙂 looking forward to seeing you in Munich next year at the 33rd EIC.

24.-26.10.2025 - ElClasicco 3.0, Budapest, Hungary

The third “edition” of this very successful seminar has ended today. 7 Nanadan teachers, over 40 participants, keiko + takai + shinsa. What more can you wish for?
Friday’s and Saturday’s practice were dedicated mostly to ZNKR kata and the final hour of Saturday we managed to squeeze in also some koryu. Sunday was taikai and grading day, so from the very start a lot was going on.

In the joint godan / rokudan category I managed to land on one of the two 3rd places. Many thanks to Gabor Habermajer sensei for his teaching and preparation.

Many thanks to all teachers for the enormous amount of input, to the organizers for creating this event and keeping it going over the years, to all my friends whom I had the opportunity to meet again.

Looking forward to seeing you all soon 🙂

A Dojo is not a place it’s the people who make the Dojo come alive.

Thank you all for being members of our dojo family. ☺️

Shinbukan Iaido Taikai - Prague, Czech Republic, 20.-21.09.2025

The traditional destination of our dojo members for September is Prague and the wonderful Shinbukan Iaido Taikai, this year unfortunately without Victor Cook and Tony Devine sensei.
On Saturday we worked in groups and focused the main idea of the event: CHANGE. Change our selves, our technique, our attitude … everyone could find something he/she would like to change. The Rokudan teachers did a tremendous job sharing knowledge and pushing us through the very hot day. We finished off Saturday with gradings up to sandan with almost everybody passing successfully. Congrats 🎉

The second day of this event is for the last 10 years dedicated to taikai. In the morning we stared with the enbu taikai of individuals in categories from mudan to godan.
In the afternoon the team competition with 12 teams took place.

And how did we do?

Mudan: Maros Hopko 2.place
Godan: Robbie Kulcsar 1.place
Team: Katka, Oli, Maros 3.place

I’m very proud of you guys, you worked hard and showed amazing Iaido.

Many thanks to the organizers, teachers and all friends for this great weekend.

Looking forward to seeing you soon 😉

Shin Junsui Dojo - Long Iaido Keiko 06.09.2025

A very hot day in Košice yet we pulled trough and held a keiko from 09:00-16:00 🙂
A small lunch break and lots of water helped us to go on.
The main target was the focus on basics and small details of all ZNKR Iaido kata as a preparation for the upcoming Shinbukan Iaido Taikai in Prague. 😉 you were great.
