🌍🎓 On 21–22 March 2026, we attended the Days of International Education 2026, organized by the Baltic Council for International Education in Budapest and Bratislava ✨

Over the course of the event, our team met with prospective students, parents, and visitors interested in international study opportunities and life at UPJŠ 🌐📚

It was a pleasure to introduce our academic programmes, discuss student life in Košice, and share information about the international experiences and opportunities available to our students 💙🎓

🌍🤝 Days 2 and 3 at NAFSA 2026 brought even more opportunities for international dialogue and future collaboration for the UPJŠ delegation 🎓✨

Over the course of the conference, our representatives held meetings with colleagues from the Education University of Hong Kong 🇭🇰, Tel-Hai Academic College 🇮🇱, Ankara University 🇹🇷, Pontifical Catholic University of Peru (PUCP) 🇵🇪, and Universidad de Congreso 🇦🇷, among others 🌐📚

NAFSA continues to be an excellent platform for connecting with institutions from across the globe, exchanging ideas, and exploring new opportunities for academic cooperation, mobility, and international engagement 🤝🌍

🌍📚 Day 2 at NAFSA 2026 continued with a series of international meetings and networking opportunities for the UPJŠ delegation 🤝✨

During the day, our representatives met with partners and university representatives from around the world, including the University of Maryland (USA) 🇺🇸, Alexander College (Canada) 🇨🇦, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology 🇭🇰, Atilim University (Turkey) 🇹🇷, and City University of Hong Kong 🇭🇰, alongside many other institutions and organizations 🌐🎓

The discussions focused on strengthening international cooperation, mobility opportunities, and future academic connections across different regions of the world 📖✨

🌍🎓 On 22 May 2026, we took part in the Begin High School Visits event organized by Begin Group in Belgrade, Serbia 🇷🇸

The event was held at Crnjanski High School and provided an opportunity to present study possibilities at UPJŠ to local high school students interested in international education 📚✨

Through conversations with prospective students, our team introduced academic programmes, student life in Košice, and international opportunities available at our university 🌐💙

🌍🤝 Day 1 at NAFSA 2026 brought a series of inspiring meetings and international discussions for the UPJŠ delegation 🇺🇸📚

Our representatives met with H.E. Andrej Droba, Ambassador of the Slovak Republic to the USA, to discuss opportunities for strengthening cooperation with Slovak communities living in the United States 🇸🇰🇺🇸

The programme also included meetings with representatives of King’s College London, the Technical University of Iași in Romania, several African universities, and the international platform Studyportals 🌐✨

NAFSA continues to create valuable opportunities for building new partnerships, expanding international collaboration, and connecting universities from all around the world 🤝🎓

🌍✨ NAFSA 2026 is officially underway! 🇺🇸🎓

Today marked the opening of the Study in Slovakia Good Idea booth, where Slovak universities are once again presenting Slovakia as an attractive destination for international education and research 📚🌐

Our university is represented by the Vice-Rector for International Relations Prof. Slávka Tomaščíková, the Vice-Rector for Undergraduate and Lifelong Learning assoc. prof. Ľudmila Elbert, and Dr. Július Rozenfeld from the Department of British and American Studies.

Representatives of the Ministry of Education, Research, Development and Youth of the Slovak Republic added a special cultural touch to the opening by wearing traditional Zemplín folk costumes, proudly showcasing a piece of Slovak heritage on the international stage 🇸🇰✨

We are excited to be part of another year of inspiring meetings, new connections, and conversations about international cooperation and study opportunities at UPJŠ 🤝💙

🌳🇸🇮🇸🇰 A new tree has joined the Alley of Distinguished Personalities at the Botanical Garden of UPJŠ in Košice 🌿

On 19 May, representatives of the university and distinguished guests gathered to commemorate the 35th anniversary of Slovenia’s independence and celebrate the long-standing friendship between Slovenia and Slovakia 🤝✨

The ceremonial planting of a Tilia × europaea ‘Wratislaviensis’ was carried out by H.E. Stanislav Raščan, Ambassador of Slovenia to Slovakia, during his visit to UPJŠ.

Guests were welcomed on behalf of the university leadership by Vice-Rector for International Relations Prof. Slávka Tomaščíková together with Botanical Garden Director Prof. Pavol Mártonfi 🌱

May this tree continue to grow as a symbol of connection, friendship, and shared European values for many years to come 💚

🎉✨ BYE BYE FEST 2026 ✨🎉

On 5 May 2026, the UPJŠ student dormitory area on Medická Street once again came alive with music, laughter, and unforgettable moments during BYE BYE FEST 2026 🎶🌅

From career talks and networking opportunities to music, stand-up performances, giveaways, and dancing late into the night, this year’s festival brought together everything that makes student life unforgettable 💼🎤✨

For the first time ever, the programme also included Career Day in cooperation with , giving students the chance to connect with employers, hear inspiring stories, and think about life after graduation 🎓🚀

As the sun went down, the festival atmosphere fully took over with performances by , ADiss, and music from 🔥🎧 Creative activities prepared by kept the energy going throughout the evening and students were challenged to capture the best festival moments on social media 📸✨

Thank you to everyone who came, danced, laughed, and made BYE BYE FEST 2026 such a great experience ❤️

💼✨ On 5 May 2026, the 10th edition of Career Day took place at the UPJŠ student dormitories on Medická Street, organized by the University Counselling Centre [Unipoc - Univerzitné poradenské centrum UPJŠ] 🎓

Students had the opportunity to connect with employers, explore career options, discover job opportunities, and build valuable new connections for their future careers 🤝📚

This year’s edition was held for the first time in collaboration with BYE BYE FEST, under the theme “What’s Next?” 🌟

The programme featured employer booths, short talks and lectures, a panel discussion on labour market trends, networking sessions, a raffle, and an evening festival atmosphere 🎤💬🎶

Career Day once again created a space where students and professionals could meet, exchange ideas, and talk openly about the future of work and opportunities after university 🚀

🌍📚 This week, the Vice-Rector for International Relations Prof. Slávka Tomaščíková joined by Dr. Július Rozenfeld from the Department of British and American Studies are taking part in an international staff week within the BIP programme in Timișoara, Romania 🇷🇴

The programme, running from 11–15 May 2026, brings together participants from different universities to reflect on wellbeing, collaboration, diversity, and ethical academic practice in today’s university environment 🤝✨

Through lectures, seminars, discussions, and interactive activities, participants are exploring topics connected to mindfulness, communication, workplace culture, and intergenerational perspectives, including the experiences of Generation Z 🧠💬

The week also includes visits to inspiring university spaces and projects, including the local library and the innovative “Immersive Space” initiative 🎧📖

International staff weeks like this create valuable opportunities to exchange ideas, build connections, and share experiences across borders 🌐
