Last week we had a meeting with Greenversity - another project with same goals like ours. But with a different
- approach to enhancing sustainability and green competences integration into higher education
- partnership and geographical reach.

So, just a great base for forging synergies and seeing how we can cooperate to put forward a larger pedagogical toolbox to educators. More tools and approaches for them to choose from, adopt, adapt and combine in their education and training work for sustainability. For a better world for us all!

We just unlocked a new achievement: our Handbook for Higher Education institutions is now available in Greek too!

And no, this is not one of those moments where you look at a document and say “does this look like Greek to you?” Because this time… it literally is.

Why does this matter? Because Europe’s linguistic diversity isn’t just a fun fact - it’s a commitment. If we want sustainability competences to take root across all our European society, then educators need resources they can actually use in their own language, not just in English.

Our pan‑European project has reached a new milestone! Our recently launched Handbook on integrating sustainability competences in Higher Education is now available not only in English, but also in Slovak.

Why does this matter? Because Europe’s strength lies in its linguistic diversity, inclusion and the belief that sustainability education should be accessible to all, not just those fluent in English.

As we launched our Methodology and Handbook on how to incorporate sustainability competencies in higher education courses, our academic partners also started organizing in-house workshops to train their teaching staff on how to practically do that.

The first to do this was Technical University of Kosice Faculty of Economics Ekonomická fakulta, TUKE – on 1 April 2026, with our project coordinator Natasa Urbancikova providing detailed guidance in this sense to 17 lecturers across various disciplines.

Because our aim is not just to make available such methodology and handbook, but also to ensure that sustainability skills become an integral part of the higher education learning experience. For this, it is very important to make sure that teachers know exactly how to revise existing courses and how to deliver them effectively to students.

Looking forward now to hearing more from them (and their students), as sustainability-enhanced courses will be delivered in the coming months. Stay tuned!

📣 Our project, and particularly the developed Methodolοgy and Handbook for the incorporation of GreenComp competencies in higher education courses, were also presented last week in Greece. This during the InfoDay “The University of the Aegean as a bridge connecting to Europe” organized in Rhodes on 31 March 2026 at the University Of The Aegean/ Πανεπιστήμιο Αιγαίου School of Humanities.

The presence of academics, educators, and students highlighted the growing momentum around European projects, innovation, and the transformation of education.

🎓 The event was honoured by welcome messages from:
• the Rector of the University of the Aegean
• the Dean of the School of Humanities
• the Presidents of the Departments of Primary Education (PTDE) & Preschool Education (TEPAES)

💡 The event featured:
• European and national research projects, such as GREENDALE

As we launched our methodology for company mentors to implement sustainability-focused student internships, our partners also started engaging with different sustainability stakeholders – companies and organisations from various sectors.

Just the other week, Anamaria Magri Pantea from our Maltese partner ascendconsulting.eu participated in this sense in the "Sustainably Yours" event organised by Social Entrepreneurs Association Malta (SEAM) and Eco Market Malta. Great opportunity to further raise awareness of our project, its objectives and offering, including our forthcoming Handbook and international training in Malta for company mentors interested in supporting the development of sustainability competences in students at our academic partners. We are offering another educational resource! This one is a methodology for the development of during , through .

Developed within the framework of the + GREENDALE project, this methodology aims to strengthen the role of internships in advancing sustainability in higher education. It provides practical guidance for , particularly those in small and medium-sized enterprises ( ), who supervise student interns and wish to contribute to the green transition in realistic and accessible ways.

Rather than requiring structural changes to business models or advanced sustainability expertise, the GREENDALE approach values incremental actions and reflective practices that can be easily integrated into daily work routines. Even modest engagement with sustainability can significantly enhance students’ ability to address the ecological, economic, and social challenges shaping today’s professional landscape.

This guide is designed primarily for company mentors but can also be used by institutions to prepare and support mentors before and during internships.

We have finalised another educational resource! Building upon an earlier developed methodology, we are now providing a handbook on how to integrate sustainability competences in Higher Education.

This Handbook aims to provide appropriate preparation and support for Higher Education (HE) teachers, regardless of discipline, who wish to become companions and active contributors to the vision of sustainability by slightly transforming their units to incorporate some of the sustainability competences described in the European Sustainability Competence Framework (GreenComp).

Guess who joined recently our from the side of our Greek partner IDEC S.A.? None other than Effie Imam - an experienced marketing and communication professional with over 25 years in strategic marketing, branding, communication, and business strategy.

Effie has worked as a senior marketer; a business consultant on and ; and as an in topics such as Marketing, Business Strategy, Digital Communication, and , at public and private educational organisations. Currently, she is working in IDEC as an EU Project Manager, and she designs and delivers trainings in topics within her expertise.

She holds a bachelor in Business Administration with a major in Marketing and is currently completing a MSc in and Sustainability Strategies. Effie holds multiple certifications in adult education, circular economy, social economy and innovation, sustainability, communication, and sales. Languages: Greek (native), English (fluent).

We look forward collaborating further with Effie and Nefeli Dimopoulou for revising and piloting internships clearly aimed at developing and integrating practical green and sustainability competences in any job.
