Clementine Blakemore is a younger London-based architect whose practice is emerging for its craft, attention to materiality, and socially calibrated design. The studio tends to focus on smaller-scale, meaningful projects (often partly self-built or collaborative) that combine sustainability, accessibility, natural materials, and community involvement. Examples include the Music Pavilion for St John’s school and Wraxall Yard in Dorset.

Cristina Monteiro je spoluzakladateľkou londýnskeho ateliéru DK-CM, ktorý spája architektúru, výskum a stratégiu s dôrazom na spoločenský a environmentálny dosah. Cristina Monteiro is co-director of DK-CM, a London-based practice combining architecture, research, and strategy, with a strong commitment to social and environmental effect. Her work often emphasises adaptive reuse, retrofitting existing buildings, diagnosing existing fabric, and ensuring resilience, low carbon, and “whole-life” performance. Projects include arts centres and public sector refurbishments.

Owen Hatherley je spisovateľ, kritik a historik, ktorý sa venuje architektúre a urbanizmu 20. storočia. Osobitne skúma modernizmus, povojnové plánovanie, socialistické a komunistické prostredie a to, ako zastavané prostredia odrážajú spoločenské a politické dejiny. Je autorom viacerých kníh, napríklad Militant Modernism, Landscapes of Communism či A Guide to the New Ruins of Great Britain. Pravidelne publikuje v architektonických časopisoch, novinách a kultúrnych magazínoch.

Owen Hatherley is a writer, critic, and historian focused on the architecture and urbanism of the 20th century, especially modernism, post-war planning, socialism/communism, and how built environments reflect social and political histories. His books include Militant Modernism, Landscapes of Communism, A Guide to the New Ruins of Great Britain, among others. He writes regularly in architectural journals, newspapers and cultural magazines.

Caruso St. John Architects

Caruso St John sú oceňovaní pre svoju citlivú adaptáciu existujúcich budov a pre prístupy, ktoré rešpektujú historický kontext aj materiály. Získali prestížne ocenenie RIBA Stirling Prize v roku 2016 za Newport Street Gallery – konverziu viacerých priemyselných viktoriánskych budov, prepojenie nového a starého a vysokú kvalitu detailov. Ich tvorba zahŕňa aj medzinárodne známe projekty ako rekonštrukcia a rozšírenie Tate Britain či Newport Street Gallery v Londýne. Najnovšie sa sústreďujú na udržateľnú architektúru prostredníctvom adaptácie existujúcich štruktúr, ako ukazuje ich oceňovaný projekt Royale Belge v Bruseli – konverzia brutalistickej administratívnej budovy na nové využitie.

Caruso St John are widely recognised for their sensitive approach to working with existing buildings and for designs that respect historic context and materials. They won the prestigious RIBA Stirling Prize in 2016 for Newport Street Gallery — the conversion of several Victorian industrial structures into a contemporary art gallery, praised for its seamless dialogue between old and new. Their portfolio also includes internationally known projects such as the refurbishment and extension of Tate Britain in London. More recently, their work has increasingly focused on sustainability and the adaptation of existing structures, exemplified by their acclaimed transformation of the Royale Belge brutalist office building in Brussels.

John Allan je riaditeľom Avanti Architects a je známy predovšetkým svojou prácou v oblasti ochrany a obnovy architektúry moderného hnutia. Avanti sa špecializuje na rekonštrukcie a modernizácie pamiatkovo chránených modernistických budov, ako aj na začleňovanie novostavieb do historického alebo inak citlivého prostredia. Allan je tiež autorom publikácií o Lubetkinovi, modernom hnutí a pamiatkovej starostlivosti modernistických stavieb.

John Allan has been a director of Avanti Architects since the early 1980s and is especially recognised for his leadership in conserving Modern Movement architecture. Avanti excels in intervention in historic fabric: restoring and upgrading listed modernist buildings, heritage work, and integrating new buildings sensitively into historic or constrained sites. Allan himself is a noted author on Lubetkin, the Modern Movement, and modern conservation.

🇸🇰David West je zakladajúcim partnerom ateliéru Studio Egret West. Pôsobí na priesečníku urbanistických vízií, architektúry a kontextuálnych zásahov, najmä pri veľkých a komplexných projektoch regenerácie. Jeho ateliér sa zameriava na kvalitnú hustotu zástavby, ekologické myslenie v krajine, zmiešané mestské komunity a „druhý život“ lokalít. Studio Egret West pripravuje aj významný projekt ESET Campus v Bratislave a West je spoluautorom publikácie Rozumne rastúce mesto o polycentrickej Bratislave. Medzi ich práce patrí aj adaptácia ikonickej brutalistickej Trellick Tower v Londýne.

🇬🇧David West is a founding partner of Studio Egret West. His practice operates at the intersection of urban visions, masterplanning, and site-specific interventions, particularly on large and complex regeneration projects. The studio focuses on well-designed density, ecological approaches to landscape, mixed-use communities, and giving “second life” to existing sites. In Slovakia, Studio Egret West is preparing the major ESET Campus in Bratislava, and West also co-authored the book Rozumne rastúce mesto on the idea of a polycentric Bratislava. Among their other notable works is the adaptation of the brutalist icon Trellick Tower in London.
