1x1 platforma Platform, which brings you more! www.1X1.sk Pilot activity was the Cycle of lectures /one project, one studio/. Tibor Alexy, Andrej Alexy and many others.

The initiative started up as a response to questions related to students of faculty – how to attract them, how to offer them something more than just obligatory educational cycle. The Project 1x1 has begun in order to propagation of architecture and enhancement the overview of students about Slovak architectural scene in winter semester 2010 on Faculty of architecture. The concept of the cycle consisted in presentation of one project, its development and specifications, which are related to the project. Lectures took place weekly in summer and winter semester in “Aula of Emil Belus” in Faculty of architecture, in fixed evening hour. The way of discourse over one project allowed to the architect and public understand its meaning, quality as well as eventual limitations. The lectures brought a space for collaboration with several architectural offices among which we mention for example: +- Architekti, AT 26, Atelier ART, Barak, Form associates, Gut Gut, Ilija Skocek, Jan Pernecky, KSA, Kusy a Panak, VSA, Mackow, Peter Moravcik, Plural,Baar, Uniform architects, Nice architects, Pavol Pokorny, Lubomir Zavodny, Peter Gero, Dusan Fischer, Ingrid Konrad, Karol Kallay, Prof. The extension of the program of the Project 1x1 was reaction to the rising interest of students in public expert discussions about current topics of architecture and urbanism in Slovakia in collaboration with SKA and other institutions. Rising interest of students in lectures brought the founder, Katka Bohacova, to the idea of establishment the platform 1x1, which could cover activities in Faculty of architecture. The objective of the Project 1x1 is expansion into shape of platform, which will take responsibility for activities and its program contents through all academic year. The other objective is also effort to open up the faculty to the more commercial activities, offers space for active advertisement of sponsors on the assumption that they will not be in conflict with ethics of college education. Sponsors will participate in inherent activities of basic educational process and also will help to increase the image of Faculty of architecture. Main activities of platform 1x1:
- Cycle of lectures of EU architects
- Discussions about current themes in architecture,
urbanism and design
- Regular workshops on current themes
- Internship in prestigious architectural offices
- Excursions to buildings

Atelier Between hlasi ,ze je pripraveny na finalne prezentacie semestralneho atelieru “ Akupunktura Nabrezia
Trencina” Tento semester nas atelier vykrocil zo svoje komfortnej zony a studenti spracovali kompletne studie od urbanistickej prognozy cez navrh zony az po akupunkturu nabrezia a dizajn public spacu:)
Synteza mierok,problemov,konceptov,vedomosti ale hlavne nekonecneho procesu hladania kritickeho myslenia. Vazime si ,ze pred touto ulohou stali studenti samostatne ako jednotlivci a presli si touto cestou ktora bola komplexna a narocna. Velmi sa tesime,ze nase vysledky bude hodnotit medzinarodna porota na cele s Patrick Verhoeven MANDAWORKS

Atelier Between is ready for the final presentations of the semester studio “Acupuncture of waterfront
Trencin” This semester our studio stepped out of its comfortable zone and the students worked on complete urban design studies from the urban forecast through the design of the zone to the acupuncture of the waterfront and the design of public space + landscape architecture 🙂
Synthesis of scales, problems, concepts, knowledge, but especially the endless design process and critical thinking. We appreciate that students stood before this task independently as individuals and went through this path which was complex and challenging. We are very pleased that our results will be evaluated by an international jury led by Patrick Verhoeven MANDAWORKS
