A look back at the final day of Visegrad Film Forum. 💖

The day began with a memorable masterclass by practical effects creator Shane Mahan, who shared insights into creating some of cinema’s most impressive practical creatures and effects. We also watched short film presentations by students from FTF VŠMU and FAMU, introducing exciting new filmmaking voices.

Later, Hungarian director György Pálfi joined us for a masterclass, and the evening concluded with a screening of How to Divorce During the War - premiered at Sundance - followed by a discussion with director Andrius Blaževičius.

Thank you onde again to everyone who participated this year, we are already looking forward for everything the next edition of VFF will prepare for us!🫰

This year, we also hosted the second edition of the Peer-to-Peer Film Criticism Workshop, led by film critic Maja Krajnc in collaboration with AGRFT. ✍️🎬

Over the past few days, participants met new people, exchanged ideas, and worked on their own film criticism texts together. We’re very happy to see this space for discussion and writing grow.

The texts created during the workshop will be shared soon - stay tuned! 📖

The Story of a Murderer, sharing insights into how cinematic worlds are created. The day also featured student film presentations from SZFE and the Film School in Lódz, showcasing the next generation of filmmakers, followed masterclass of a documentarist Alexander Nanau and an inspiring talk with the brilliant Hungarian director György Palfi.

We closed the evening with the premiere screening of his latest film HEN.🐓

Join us for a screening of How to Divorce During the War by Lithuanian director Andrius Blaževičius, followed by a discussion with the director after the film.

The film premiered at the Sundance Film Festival and offers a sharp, darkly humorous look at relationships under extreme circumstances. Set against the backdrop of the war in Ukraine, it follows a couple trying to separate while the world around them is falling apart: turning a personal crisis into a story about love, distance, and survival in uncertain times.
