A Day to Remember Mario Rinvolucri: Teach a Class Inspired by Mario’s Ideas

We invite English teachers around the world to come together and celebrate the life and legacy of Mario Rinvolucri — a visionary, a pioneer of Humanizing Language Teaching, and a beloved mentor to many. Join us for a discussion and teach a class inspired by his ideas.

Mario, who passed away in February 2025, spent his life reshaping how we understand teaching. He believed language learning should be deeply human — relational, personal, and alive. He challenged rigid coursebook approaches and advocated for creativity, authenticity, and emotional intelligence in the classroom. His work continues to inspire teachers around the globe.

When to join?
On June 9, which would have been Mario’s birthday.

How to join?
– teach a lesson inspired by Mario: Use one of his activities, ideas, or exercises. You’ll find many on hlt.digital
– share a moment from your classroom on Instagram, Facebook or LinkedIn – a quote, a student’s reaction, a photo (with permission), or even a short reflection on how Mario inspired your own work. Do not forget to tag us and we will reshare your story or post.

What to teach?
- Mario’s publications are a goldmine of creativity. Whether it’s a storytelling activity, a moment of silent reflection, a grammar game that taps into emotion, or simply asking students “How are you really today?” — you’re already honouring his legacy.

Máme dobré správy!

Spúšťame registráciu do druhého ročníka nášho kurzu lektorských a prezentačných zručností, ktorý organizujeme vďaka finančnej podpore hlavného mesta Bratislavy.

V prvom ročníku tohto kurzu sa zišla naozaj skvelá partia ľudí s rôznorodým zázemím a hodiny boli prínosné a obohacujúce pre nás všetkých. Oproti minulému roku máme pár zmien, komplet informácie nájdete na našej stránke.

Hľadáme:
- seniorov a seniorky, ktorí/é chcú zdieľať svoje vedomosti a skúsenosti a pomáhať rovesníkom rozvíjať sa prostredníctvom workshopov či prednášok
- pracovníkov a pracovníčky denných centier a iných organizácií venujúcich sa práci so seniormi a seniorkami

Kurz je bezplatný, počet miest je obmedzený na 12.

Výučba bude prebiehať prezenčne v priestoroch Kogneo v Bratislave a tiež online. Začíname v septembri.

Po zaslaní prihlášky vás prosíme vyplniť formulár, ktorý dostanete v potvrdzovacom maile. Následne vás budeme kontaktovať mailom alebo telefonicky a pozveme vás na pohovor.

Don’t put all your eggs in one basket

… unless it’s our Easter workshop. In that case do so. Because it’s gonna be fun!

Last Saturday, we hosted one of our most popular events at the Bridge: the Easter workshop for children. For two hours, more than 20 kids were drawing, cutting, arranging and dealing with words related to Easter.

It was creative and lively!

See some of the masterpieces in the pictures and give kudos to all the little artists.

Hippity hoppity, it’s Easter time this year and next year, too.
