We may not have the most modern science campus or the most modern equipment, but we have a lot of intelligent and skilled scientists who make us a good name not only at home but also abroad.

There were only 10 of us at our Slovak Friends social event on Saturday, but the atmosphere was amazing. Friendly, relaxed, and full of great conversations.

One of our favorite moments was when Chelsea and Kathleen met for the first time. Both are from the USA, both study Slovak with us (in different courses), and neither knew the other before the event. They ended up sitting next to each other and discovered that they actually live only a short distance apart back home. What a small world! 😊

And that's exactly why we love organizing these events. Learning Slovak is important, but so is meeting people, making friends, and feeling part of a community.

We spent the evening speaking Slovak, whether at a beginner or advanced level, playing games, laughing, and discovering just how competitive some of our students can be. 😄
