The supraorbital nerve is a purely sensory nerve that provides sensation to the forehead, upper eyelid, scalp, and frontal sinus.
Occipital nerve is occipital nerves are a group of nerves—the greater, lesser, and third occipital nerves—that emerge from the C2 and C3 spinal nerves to provide sensation to the scalp at the back and sides of the head, and to the outer ear.
The vestibular apparatus is a sensory system in the inner ear that provides the sense of balance and spatial orientation.
The sympathetic chain, also known as the sympathetic trunk or paravertebral ganglia, is a bilateral chain of interconnected ganglia running alongside the spinal column from the skull to the coccyx. It is a key part of the sympathetic nervous system.

Today is the day we recognize as the anniversary of A. T. Still opening the American School of Osteopathy. There are some conflicting records, but it is generally agreed the school opened in the Fall of 1892. In his book Lengthening Shadows, A. G. Hildreth, a member of the first class, states, “On the morning of October 3, 1892, at ten o’clock, Dr. A. T. Still and Dr. William Smith began teaching the handful of men and women who were assembled there to study osteopathy.” (page 30)
