Začiatok Nového roka sme zahájili diskusiou s talianskou veľvyslankyňou v Slovenskej republike, J.E. Catherine Flumiani. Hlavnou témou nášho rozhovoru nebol len vplyv pandémie COVID-19 na diplomatické vzťahy krajiny, ale aj priority Talianska v Pláne obnovy EÚ, ktoré by podľa slov našej hostky mohli byť uskutočniteľné. Počas kladenia otázok pani veľvyslankyni mali študenti možnosť sa dozvedieť aké sú výhody a nevýhody online diplomacie, aké sú najväčšie výzvy talianskej zahraničnej politiky ale aj čo spraviť pre to, aby ste sa stali dobrým diplomatom. Diskusia bola organizovaná v rámci projektu Open Embassy v spolupráci s talianskou mládežníckou organizáciou Confassociazioni Young World za účelom prehĺbenia vzajomných priateľských vzťahov medzi Slovenskou a Talianskou republikou.
Veríme, že diskusia bola pre Vás príjemným spestrením skúškového obdobia. Chceli by sme sa touto cestou poďakovať pani veľvyslankyni za prijatie nášho pozvania do diskusie a rovnako aj všetkým zúčastneným. Tešíme sa na stretnutie s Vami pri ďalších podujatiach v tomto roku.

The guest of our first discussion this year within the Open Embassy project was the Italian Ambassador to the Slovak Republic, H.E. Catherine Flumiani. The main topic of our conversation was not only the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the country's diplomatic relations, but also Italy's priorities in the EU Recovery Plan, which, in the words of our guest, could be feasible. While asking questions to the Ambassador, the students had the opportunity to learn what are the advantages and disadvantages of online diplomacy, what are the biggest challenges of Italian foreign policy but also what to do to become a good diplomat. The discussion was organized in cooperation with the Italian youth organization Confassociazioni Young World in order to deepen the mutual friendly relations between Slovakia and Italy.
