#BEAUTY

To present Flowers to someone means to honor for something, to share beauty. The idea to tell the story of Slovak culture via the unconvetional means of contemporary design, originates from project's authors Lars Kemper and Peter Olah. The name and the mission of the project, inspired by the act of giving, started as a pilot project in 2009

in co-operation with the Institute of Design at the Faculty of Architecture in Bratislava.

#SLOVAKIA

Unique exhibition projects, developed within the frame of the Flowers for Slovakia project, are inpired by the tradition, vernacular craft techniques and cultural heritage of our country. In passed five years, Flowers for Slovakia has become an established collaboration platform, focused on production and presentation of young Slovak talent abroad. Through unconvetional language of contemporary design, Flowers for Slovakia tells authentic story about the country, it's people, habits – about Slovakia.

#EDUCATION

Flowers for Slovakia is an extraordinary project for extraordinary students. Thanks to Flowers for Slovakia selected students of design and related creative disciplines are donated a chance to experience the professional environment. During the workshops, the get the chance to cooperate with established producers, under the supervision of established designers. The students get the chance to materialize their ideas and showcase their creation on professional level as a part of unique travelling exhibition collections, presented at the international design fairs in Slovakia and abroad.

#DESIGN

Since 2009 the association of Flowers for Slovakia has produced two exhibition projects. Our first glass design collection Handle with Care was developed in cooperation with world leading glass producer LASVIT and renown AJETO glassworks in 2011. Two years later, we have establish co-operation with high end furniture producer Vitra, whose support had enabled creation of furniture and interior accessories collection, titled Lost and Found.

💎GLASS & DESIGN: A Journey Beyond the Limits of Material

Two talented designers and graduates of Fakulta architektúry a dizajnu STU, Martin Gallo and Jakub Maglay, will take you behind the scenes of one of the most prestigious international design companies, Lasvit, renowned for its monumental light installations made of Bohemian crystal.

The lecture will present their personal and professional journeys, highlight major global projects and collaborations of the company—including the impressive Splash installation at Milan Design Week—and showcase their own creative approach to glass as a medium between light, space, and emotion.

💎On the first day at Lasvit, we engaged in discussions with people and designers, explored the latest project, Porta, and visited the famous Glass House in Nový Bor – a unique glass structure covering the building of Lasvit’s HQ.
