Today, Slovakia celebrates its 20th anniversary of joining the European Union. 👍🇪🇺 As an EU member, Slovakia has become an equal partner in the world's largest trading bloc, sharing common values such as human dignity, freedom, democracy, equality, the rule of law, human rights, and solidarity. EU membership has provided significant financial resources for various projects, including the construction of schools, sustainable transport development, cycle bridges, kindergarten and primary school capacity expansion, secondary school modernization, new transfer terminals, parking lots, bypasses, new trams and trolleybuses, as well as modernized tram and trolleybus lines, and reconstructed monuments.

Watching the cannon guns shooting at Pressburg from Tyrš Waterfront. The Siege of Pressburg (Bratislava now) was part of Napoleon’s 1809 Campaign against the Austro-Hungarian Empire. Napoleon took Wien, but the Siege of Pressburg was not successful and French forces didn't take the city in spite of being besieged and bombarded. Leaving the city, however, French troops turned Devín Castle into a ruin, remaining in ruins until today.
Sledujúc delostrelecké ostreľovanie Prešporka z Tyršovho nábrežia. Obliehanie Prešporka (Bratislavy) bolo v roku 1809 súčasťou ťaženia Napoleóna proti Rakúsko-Uhorskej ríši. Napoleón obsadil Viedeň, ale v Prešporku nebol úspešný a francúzske sily neobsadili mesto ani obliehaním a bombardovaním. Aj keď francúzske jednotky na odchode vyhodili do vzduchu hrad Devín, ktorý je odvtedy ruinou, hrdý francúzsky cisár odišiel s dlhým nosom - ubránili sme sa.
