Spring… end of year… testing season…
but students still need meaningful reading practice.

These are the kinds of passages I always used this time of year.

High-interest topics
Short, manageable text
Simple comprehension questions
AND students go back into the text to find their answers

So they’re not just reading…
they’re thinking.

Topics like:
popcorn
pizza
ice cream
animals

And the best part…

It easily turns into something students will actually remember.

Have popcorn while learning about popcorn
Make mini bagel pizzas after reading about pizza
Turn off the lights and add a black light for animals that glow
End with an ice cream treat

Simple. Memorable. Engaging.
