Wonderful aurora up here in Svalbard yesterday morning... To spice it up, sunlight reflected from stratospheric clouds added a tasteful red tint to our polar night sky. The video ends when the Sun is still 9 degrees below the horizon...(https://angeo.copernicus.org/articles/23/1593/2005/)

We think we spotted at least one auroral fragment, an isolated small green blob visible only in a couple of frames. Can you spot it, too?

Nighttime aurora transforms into daytime aurora (with pulsating aurora in the south)

Time to get out of the city lights and do some aurora watching! Although, this time the target was the comet Lemmon. Very easy to see with binoculars - but only once you find it! A single 4-s exposure (85mm at F2.2, ISO4000, tripod) makes the comet very obvious in the photo.

Three rounds on 2 beltwagons brought us a large number of young visitors from AGF-216 today! Lack of sunshine was not a show-stopper as the forecasted high wind was tamed by the nearby mountain slopes. Great day! ❄🙃
