Festival flavtistov Slovenije / Slovenian Flute Festival

S tem jim približa glasbeni izraz tujih dežel in jim nudi možnost seznanjanja s kvalitetno sodobnejšo glasbo.

Začetki festivala segajo v leto 1996, ko je skupina mladih in motiviranih učiteljev flavte s pomočjo podpore in zaupanja občine Zagorje ob Savi postavila jasne idejne temelje zanj. Osnovni cilj festivala je mlajšim generacijam flavtistov predstaviti, kaj vse lahko kakovostno izšolan glasbenik doseže po končanem študiju.Prav tako jim nudi priložnost, da v Sloveniji prisluhnejo vrhunskim glasbenikom z vsega sveta, ki večinoma predstavljajo glasbo svoje dežele. Festival je po kakovosti izbranih izvajalcev, predvsem pa po drugačnem konceptu, ki temelji na festivalski in spremljevalni raznolikosti, uvršča med najboljše v Evropi.

🎶 Festivalski odmevi #8 🎶

Piše se leto 2010 in v Zagorju ob Savi smo gostili Emmanuela Pahuda, Petra-Lukasa Grafa, Mika Mowerja, Maria Carolija, Bülenta Evcila, Amy Porter, Alda Baertena, Danielo Koch in Urszulo Janik, pridružil pa se jim je tudi Orkester flavt Glasbene šole Zagorje. 🌍

Tokrat pa nekaj pozornosti namenimo tudi pianistom. 🎹 Tako na našem festivalu kot tudi sicer so nepogrešljivi glasbeni partnerji nas flavtistov. Z njimi naš repertoar zares zaživi, koncertni odri pa bi bili brez njih precej bolj osamljeni.

Posebna zahvala gre našemu dragemu kolegu Amedeu Salvatu, ki je z nami že od leta 2008 ter s svojo muzikalnostjo, virtuoznostjo in srčnostjo soustvarja nastope številnih gostujočih flavtistov. 🎼

🎶 Festival Echoes #8 🎶

It’s 2010, and once again it’s time for the Slovenian Flute Festival. 🪈

This edition brought Emmanuel Pahud, Peter-Lukas Graf, Mike Mower, Mario Caroli, Bülent Evcil, Amy Porter, Aldo Baerten, Daniela Koch and Urszula Janik to Zagorje ob Savi, joined by the Zagorje Music School Flute Orchestra. 🌍

This time, we’d also like to shine a light on our pianists. 🎹 At the festival and beyond, they are indispensable musical partners to us flutists. They bring our repertoire to life, and without them, the concert stage would be a much lonelier place.

A special thank you goes to our dear colleague Amedeo Salvato, who has been with us since 2008. With his musicianship, virtuosity and warmth, he has helped shape countless performances by our guest flutists over the years. 🎼

Festival flavtistov Slovenije nas je, kot doslej, ponovno združeval vsaki dve leti. Tako smo se tudi v letih 2006 in 2008 srečali ob koncertih, navdihujočih mojstrskih tečajih in druženju. Med gosti so bili Andrea Oliva, Michel Debost, Viviana Guzman, Ian Clarke, Sharon Bezaly, Quintessenz Flute Quintet (ki bo z namj ponovno tudi letos! 🥳) in številni drugi. 🪈🌍

🎶 Festival Echoes #6 & #7 🎶

As before, the Slovenian Flute Festival continued to bring us together every two years. In 2006 and 2008, we once again gathered for concerts, inspiring masterclasses, and time spent together. Among our guests were Andrea Oliva, Michel Debost, Viviana Guzman, Ian Clarke, Sharon Bezaly, the Quintessenz Flute Quintet (who are joining us again this year! 🥳) and many others. 🪈🌍

🎶 Festivalski odmevi #5 🎶

Leta 2004 je festival dobil ime, ki ga nosi še danes: Festival flavtistov Slovenije. 🎉

Ob jubileju se je svojega gostovanja spomnil tudi ameriški flavtist Robert Dick:

»Leta 2004 sem bil gostujoči umetnik na 5. Festivalu flavtistov Slovenije. Navdušila sta me toplina in prijetno vzdušje festivala, predvsem pa številni pogovori s slovenskimi flavtisti in mednarodnimi gosti. Čudovito okolje je celotno izkušnjo naredilo res posebno!« 🧡

🎶 Festival Echoes #5 🎶

The year 2004 marked another important milestone—the festival adopted the name it still proudly carries today: the Slovenian Flute Festival. 🎉

As part of the anniversary celebrations, American flutist Robert Dick shared this memory of his visit:

“I was a guest artist at the 5th Slovenian Flute Festival in 2004. I loved the warmth and intimacy of the event, especially the many conversations I had with Slovenian flutists and international guests. The beautiful setting made the entire experience truly memorable!” 🧡

🎶 Festivalski odmevi #4 🎶

Festival je iz izvedbe v izvedbo rasel. Leta 2002 je v Zagorju ob Savi ponovno združil flavtiste z različnih koncev sveta ter ponudil pester program koncertov, mojstrskih tečajev in spremljevalnih dogodkov. 🌍🎶

Med gosti je bil tudi francoski pikolist Jean-Louis Beaumadier, ki se je ob jubileju z veseljem spomnil svojega obiska festivala:

»Na 4. srečanje flavtistov Slovenije maja 2002 se spominjam z velikim veseljem in toplino. Takrat sem prvič srečal Silvio Careddu in Matthiasa Zieglerja, ponovno pa tudi prijatelje Matjaža Debeljaka, Ano Domančić in Boba Stallmanna, ki sem ga poznal še iz Rampalovih let v Nici. To je zame čudovit spomin! Ker pa ne živim v preteklosti, si zelo želim, da bi se nekoč vrnil in pri vas nastopil z recitalom – Viva Piccolo!« 🧡

🎶 Festival Echoes #4 🎶

The festival continued to grow with each edition. In 2002, it once again brought together flutists from around the world in Zagorje ob Savi, offering a diverse programme of concerts, masterclasses, and accompanying events. 🌍🎶

Among the festival's guests was French piccolo soloist Jean-Louis Beaumadier, who shared this heartfelt memory as part of the anniversary celebrations:

»I look back with pleasure and fondness on my time at the fourth Slovenian Flute Festival in May 2002, which was called a "convention." There I met Silvia Careddu and Mathias Ziegler for the first time, as well as my friends Matjaž Debeljak and Ana Domančić, who had come as audience members, and my friend Bob Stallmann, whom I had known since our Rampal years in Nice. It's a wonderful memory for me! But, since I don't live in the past, I would also very much like to return there for a recital—Viva Piccolo!« 🧡

🎶 Festivalski odmevi #3 🎶

Leto 2000 je na Festival flavtistov Slovenije pripeljalo nekatera največja imena svetovne flavtistične scene. V Zagorju ob Savi so gostovali Emmanuel Pahud, Trevor Wye, Celso Woltzenlogel in številni drugi, festival pa je s tem še dodatno utrdil svoj ugled tudi v mednarodnem prostoru. 🌍🎶

Posebna vez s festivalom povezuje Emmanuela Pahuda, ki je skozi leta pri nas gostoval že večkrat, letos pa se ponovno vrača na jubilejni 15. Festival flavtistov Slovenije. 🧡

Ob obujanju festivalskih spominov nam je nekaj besed namenil tudi brazilski flavtist Celso Woltzenlogel, ki je bil gost festivala leta 2000. V svojem videopozdravu se spominja obiska Zagorja ob Savi in jubilejnemu festivalu pošilja svoje iskrene čestitke. 🎥

The year 2000 brought some of the biggest names in the international flute world to the Slovenian Flute Festival. Emmanuel Pahud, Trevor Wye, Celso Woltzenlogel and many other distinguished artists performed in Zagorje ob Savi, further strengthening the festival's reputation on the international stage. 🌍🎶

The festival shares a special connection with Emmanuel Pahud, who has performed with us on several occasions over the years and is returning once again for the 15th Anniversary Slovenian Flute Festival. 🧡

As we celebrate the festival's rich history, Brazilian flutist Celso Woltzenlogel, one of the festival's guests in 2000, has recorded a special video message. In it, he fondly recalls his visit to Zagorje ob Savi and extends his warm congratulations on the festival's anniversary. 🎥

The President of the Republic of Slovenia, Nataša Pirc Musar, PhD, has granted her honorary patronage to the 15th Slovenian Flute Festival, which will take place on 19–20 September 2026 in Zagorje ob Savi, celebrating 30 years of the festival's continuous tradition.

As the festival organisers, we are deeply honoured and sincerely grateful for this recognition and support. It is a meaningful acknowledgement of the festival and its long-standing mission.

By extending her honorary patronage, the President of the Republic of Slovenia has recognised the festival as an important cultural event that has, for three decades, brought together young and established musicians from around the world, fostered musical creativity, and made a significant contribution to the development of musical arts and the cultural landscape of Slovenia.

Naš časovni stroj se danes ustavlja v letu 1998. ✨

Dve leti po prvem srečanju smo se ponovno zbrali, tokrat pod imenom 2. srečanje flavtistov Slovenije. 😊

Festival je že ob svoji drugi izvedbi zrasel v dvodnevni dogodek in gostil številne domače ter mednarodno priznane umetnike. Na plakatu najdemo zveneča imena slovenske in svetovne flavtistične scene, med njimi tudi Ireno Grafenauer, Ruth Ann McClain, Luciana Tristaina in druge glasbenike, ki so pomembno zaznamovali zgodnja leta festivala. 🎶

Ob obujanju spominov je Kirsten Spratt, ki je na festivalu nastopila leta 1998, zapisala:
»Nastop na Festivalu flavtistov Slovenije mi je bil v veliko čast. Čudovito je bilo igrati v tem prekrasnem delu sveta, na festivalu s prijetnim in toplim vzdušjem.«

Our journey through time brings us to 1998. ✨

Two years after the very first event, we came together once again, this time under the name 2nd Slovenian Flute Convention. 😊

By its second edition, the event had already grown into a two-day festival, welcoming renowned Slovenian and international artists. The poster features distinguished names from the flute world, including Irena Grafenauer, Ruth Ann McClain, Luciano Tristaino and many other musicians who helped shape the festival's early years. 🎶

Looking back on her visit to the festival, Kirsten Spratt, who performed at the 1998 edition, shared:
"Performing at the Slovenian Flute Festival was an honour – playing in this beautiful part of the world in a welcoming festival with an intimate atmosphere."
