International Summer School (ISS), Piran

International Summer School (ISS), Piran ISS is a PhD level course for graduate students in biotechnology and life sciences. It has become a traditional event at the end of the summer.

Starting in the year of 2008, Blood Transfusion Centre of Slovenia, Faculty of Technology and Metallurgy, University of Belgrade, Serbia and National Institute of Biology, Slovenia have initiated a series of International Summer Schools on different topics in biomedical engineering, as an effort to promote education and research in this field, particularly in the Balkan region. Various topics in t

he field of regenerative medicine, focusing on research on stem cells biology and its application, were the themes of the School each of the subsequent year. Today, the Schools are aimed at international population of doctoral and undergraduate students, as well as other professionals worldwide to update in recent advances in particular topics in life sciences as well as bio-engineering and stem cell technology.
