Through the Twin Synergies project, we’ve been working on exactly that! Over the past months, three international workshops brought together experts from academia, public institutions, and industry to share ideas and tackle key challenges in innovation.

💡 From simplifying EU programmes to improving support for startups and researchers, the discussions highlighted what needs to change—and how we can move forward together.

🌍 The result? New action plans, stronger collaboration, and fresh ideas to boost innovation across the Danube Region.

🌍 SYNERGIES Final Conference successfully concluded in Craiova!

On 25 March 2026, we brought together experts, policymakers, researchers, and innovators at the University of Craiova to celebrate the achievements of the TWIN SYNERGIES project and explore how to strengthen the green & digital transition in widening countries.

💡 Highlights from the day:
✔️ Presentation of key project results and good practices
✔️ Insightful panels on governance synergies & SME support
✔️ Strong focus on Smart Specialisation Strategies and EU funding opportunities
✔️ Meaningful discussions on improving collaboration across regions

The event gathered stakeholders from academia, industry, and public institutions — reinforcing the importance of cooperation, knowledge sharing, and capacity building across Europe.

📍 Twin Synergies 3rd Steering Committee Meeting at the University of

Craiova in Craiova!

We were happy to gather at the University of Craiova for the final Steering Committee Meeting of the TWIN SYNERGIES project!

Partners came together on the 24th of March to review progress across all work packages, share lessons learned, and align on the final steps towards project completion. The meeting combined productive discussions with team-building moments—keeping things both effective and enjoyable 😊

From project achievements to future impact, this milestone meeting marked an important step in strengthening collaboration and ensuring a successful project closure.

Did you know that the Twin Synergies consortium will be in Stuttgart for a Cross-Fertilization Workshop? 🚀

The workshop will take place as part of the Transferability Conference, organized by Steinbeis Europa Zentrum on 4 February 2026.

One of the key activities of the Twin Synergies project is organizing cross-fertilization workshops. The first workshop was held in Novo Mesto, Slovenia, in July 2025, focusing on deep-tech startups, commercialization of scientific results, and innovation. The second workshop will be hosted next month in Stuttgart, followed by a third workshop online.

So, what is cross-fertilization about? It’s a workshop format designed to bring together diverse disciplines and perspectives to exchange ideas, share best practices, and learn from one another. Connecting people who don’t usually collaborate sparks innovation, breaks down silos, and strengthens problem-solving and cooperation.

Over 250 participants, 7 sessions across 3 countries, and 12 new EU project proposals in 2025—this is what happens when training meets coaching and learning turns into action.

Through proposal writing trainings and personalised coaching in innovation management, business internationalisation, and strategic communication, Twin Synergies is helping organisations across Europe compete—not just participate—in Horizon Europe.

✨ Twin Synergies – 2025 Year in Review ✨

What a year! In 2025, Twin Synergies collaborated with partners across Europe to enhance skills, share knowledge, and bolster research and innovation capacity.

Here’s what we achieved together:
📍 Three in-person trainings in Ostrava, Zagreb, and Novo Mesto focused on building strong Horizon Europe proposals and supporting collaboration.
🧭 A complete series of coaching sessions on Innovation Management, Business Internationalisation, and Strategic Communication.
🤝 Great participation from universities, regional development agencies, and innovation offices in Widening countries.

The outcome?
A stronger, more connected community ready to drive the green and digital transition.

🚀 KER2 from the Twin Synergies project is now available!

This second Key Exploitable Result –
“Twinning Methodology and Key Lessons Learned from the Twin Synergies Project” consolidates our project experience into a practical package.

It is meant for:
✅ universities and research organisations
✅ business support organisations
✅ innovation & technology transfer intermediaries
✅ policymakers

What does KER2 offer?
🔹 concrete approaches to strengthen collaboration capacity
🔹 ideas to boost innovation potential
🔹 examples that support participation in European research and innovation ecosystems

KER2 is strongly linked to the Green and Digital Transition, so the shared knowledge fits directly with current European priorities and interregional / international collaboration. 🌍💡
