1. “To be honest, I really don’t want to leave. I feel so comfortable and happy here, but I know it’s time to close this chapter and head back to reality. In conclusion, this journey turned out to be the most wonderful surprise. Slovenia exceeded every single expectation I had, and while it’s time to say goodbye for now, I am already counting down the days until I return this Christmas.

2. “I was lucky enough to meet so many amazing individuals: from my roommate and the lively Italian Erasmus group to my fantastic office colleagues”.
4. “Above all, the local Slovenian friends we made became the real treasure of this journey. Their hospitality was unmatched. I even managed to pick up quite a bit of local vocabulary and expressions; seeing a genuine smile on people’s faces whenever I made the effort to speak their language was truly priceless and made me feel deeply connected to the community”.
5. “...they welcomed us with open arms and gave us a genuine, insider’s perspective on their culture—introducing us to everything from classic songs (both Slovenian and ex-Yugoslavian) to daily traditions.”
6. “I also took every opportunity to travel around. I got to discover coastal gems like Piran, Koper, and Izola, the historic town of Celje, the breathtaking alpine landscapes of Velika Planina, and, of course, the wonderful Lake Bled”.
7. “The contrast with Spain was striking—Slovenia is so remarkably green, and the deep respect people here have for nature is truly inspiring”.
8. “There are so many small, daily rituals I am going to miss deeply:
• watching the sunset by the Drava River,
• going to the movies at Maribox,
• hanging out at City Park,
• taking in the panoramic views of the city from Piramida Hill
• looking up at the Pohorje mountain”.
9. “I have always been deeply interested in Balkan culture, and if it hadn’t been for this Erasmus exchange, I might never have had the chance to truly explore this region”.
10. “This Erasmus also gave me memories I will cherish forever, like experiencing Spain winning the World Cup while being here! I got to fully immerse myself in the local football passion by watching a live matvh at Ljudski vrt stadium.”
11. “As someone who isn't a big fan of overwhelming cities, Maribor turned out to be the absolute ideal destination for me. The local lifestyle is noticeably calmer, peaceful, and relaxed, yet it still boasts a vibrant, welcoming university atmosphere that brings the town to life”.
