🌍 Friday 27 June marked the end of the three-day conference “Society 5.0 Community – 𝐶𝑜-𝐸𝑥𝑖𝑠𝑡𝑒𝑛𝑐𝑒 𝐵𝑒𝑡𝑤𝑒𝑒𝑛 𝐻𝑢𝑚𝑎𝑛 𝐵𝑒𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑀𝑎𝑐ℎ𝑖𝑛𝑒 𝐵𝑒𝑖𝑛𝑔”, devoted to the challenges and opportunities of a digitally driven society.
🧠 Three rich, intense and participative days allowed for constructive insights and debates in order to shape the future of sustainable and digital higher education within Society 5.0.
📚 Day 1 opened with welcome remarks from Professors Flavio Corradini and Barbara Re; after Francesco Profumo delivered the keynote “𝐼𝑡’𝑠 𝑛𝑜𝑡 𝑒𝑛𝑜𝑢𝑔ℎ 𝑡𝑜 𝑐𝑜𝑒𝑥𝑖𝑠𝑡. 𝑊𝑒 𝑚𝑢𝑠𝑡 𝑐𝑜-𝑒𝑣𝑜𝑙𝑣𝑒,” offering reflections on integrating AI into education.
Then, the programme moved on to two Research-Track sessions and two interactive workshops led by Joanna Morawska & Elias Carayannis and Marc Aeschbacher & Valeria Legena. The first day ended with a presentation by Intelligenza Aumentata S.r.l., sparking a lively exchange between academia and industry.
📅 Day 2 opened with Rocco De Nicola’s keynote, “Security, Resilience and Responsibility in the Digital Age,” followed by parallel tracks: a Research Track on Society 5.0 topics and an Industry Track on “AI in Healthcare for Pets – The Co-Caring Approach” by AI.Tails. Then, four practical workshops explored:
1️⃣ "Opinion Formation, Influence and Diffusion in the Era of Social Media: The Case of Climate Change"
2️⃣ "A Design Thinking Approach to Advancing Smart and Sustainable Higher Education" facilitated by Raluca Mihaela Bârsan, Angela Hernandez Mendieta, María Jesús Cardoso Moreno & Saša B.. The workshop drawn on concrete results from the Erasmus+ KA2 GRIT_project
3️⃣ "Digital Technologies for Smart and Sustainable Buildings in Society 5.0"
4️⃣ "Educational Tools for Promoting the Mediterranean Diet: The PRIMA Tool4MedLife Initiative"
📅 Day 3 opened with Agnis Stibe’s keynote, “Reuniting Human Artificial Intelligence for Hyper-Performance.” Two parallel research sessions focused on innovation ecosystems, showcasing papers linked to the VITALITY project - a hub of forward-thinking research and collaboration.
