University of Ljubljana Vis Moot Team

Today the team visited Schoenherr Slovenia, a branch of the international law firm based in Vienna, Austria with offices in 12 other countries in CEE. Schoenherr Slovenia has developed into one of the leading law firms on the Slovenian market.👨‍💼

Yesterday’s pleading at the Law Firm Ketler & Partners, member of Karanovic, a respectable law firm dealing primarily with commercial law matters as well as dispute resolution. 👨‍⚖️

Started off the season with a bang! 💥👨‍⚖️

Last week our team ranked #1 in the 5th Jadek&Pensa Premoot. 🏆

Jadek&Pensa is an esteemed and biggest law firm in Slovenia, specializing in commercial law. Many thanks for hosting such an amazing pre-moot event! And congrats to for strong rounds of pleadings! 👏

Today the team pleaded at HSE, one of the leading energy companies in Slovenia, one of the larger producers of electricity from renewable sources, and a key electricity trader on the Slovenian wholesale market. ⚡️🔋

Today the team dressed the part👨‍⚖️👩‍⚖️ and put their arguments to the test before an engaging tribunal from one of Slovenia’s leading law firms.

We would like to thank the law firm Šelih & Partnerji for hosting today’s practice pleading and for giving us the opportunity to gain valuable practical experience.

Meet the Mooties (8/8): Mark Mesarič 🥌 Mark is a fourth-year law student with a particular interest in civil law and international arbitration. During his studies, he has gained practical experience in some of the largest Slovenian law firms, working mainly in the field of civil law. He joined the Vis Moot team to challenge himself in an international environment and further develop his legal and advocacy skills. Outside his studies, Mark enjoys going to the gym, spending time in nature, and has a keen interest in literature. He is also the national university champion in curling.

Meet the Mooties (7/8): Oskar Škulj 🥌 Oskar is a final-year bachelor’s student at the Faculty of Law with a strong interest in civil law, finance, economics, and youth participation. He currently serves as the president of the Student Organization of the Faculty of Law, where he actively contributes to student representation and project development.

Outside his academic work, he enjoys sports and spending time in nature, especially hiking. He is also the national university champion in curling.

By participating in the moot court, he hopes to further develop legal skills, embrace new challenges, and grow within an international environment.

Meet the Mooties (6/8): Lenart Prevec 💥 Lenart is a final-year bachelor’s student, with a keen interest in commercial law and international arbitration, which he first discovered during his Erasmus exchange in Germany. Motivated by these interests, along with his desire to further develop his legal skills and take on new challenges, he joined the Vis Moot team. Outside of his studies, Lenart loves playing the piano and enjoys exploring the outdoors through hiking and cycling.

Meet the Mooties (5/8): Helena Tolar ✨ Helena is a Master’s student with a strong interest in civil and commercial law. She joined the team to deepen her knowledge in international commercial arbitration and to enhance her public speaking skills.
When not buried in legal texts, you’ll find Helena outside, hiking in the mountains, running and training for her next race, or climbing via ferratas.

Meet the Mooties (4/8): Mark Dolžan 💥 Mark is a fourth-year law student with a strong interest in commercial law and international arbitration. During his studies he has also gained practical experience working in some of the largest Slovenian law firms. He has decided to join the Vis Moot team to further deepen his understanding and passion for the law. Outside of his academic and professional pursuits, Mark enjoys weightlifting, running, and cooking.

Meet the Mooties (3/8): Lana Pavlovič ✨ Lana is Master’s student at the Faculty of Law in Ljubljana with a passion for comercial law and dispute resolution, which she developed through her studies and interships at Slovenia’s largest law firms. After taking part in an international mediation moot court competition, she decided to take on a new challenge by joining the Vis Moot team. Beyond her studies, Lana enjoys staying active, having played competitive volleybal for several years. In her free time, she loves spending time with family and friends.
