Wednesday was a bittersweet day as our Year 13s celebrated their final day of the school year.
The morning began with a whole-school assembly, where Year 11 students delivered a warm and appreciative speech to end their time in IGCSEs, followed by a heartfelt address from the Year 13s.
It was a fitting start to a day of goodbyes, memories, and looking ahead to what comes next.

This past weekend, four VIA students, together with two students from Gimnazija Vič, proudly represented Slovenia at the Austrian Young Physicists Tournament (AYPT).
They presented and defended their experimental projects in a dynamic, conference-style competition that promotes respect, critical thinking, and international-mindedness.
While no medal was won this time, the experience of competing alongside young physicists from across Europe was an invaluable learning journey our students won’t forget.

Year 11 and 12 students attended a powerful stage adaptation of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde at Španski borci last Friday.
The performance brought Robert Louis Stevenson’s classic story to life, exploring themes of duality, morality, and the complexity of human nature.
It was a memorable cultural experience that encouraged students to reflect on the narrative in a new and engaging way. 🎭📚

Even with mock exam season in full swing, school life doesn’t press pause 📚✨
While many students are busy with exams and studying, there’s still plenty happening across classrooms. From Biology experiments to Psychology escape rooms, the learning carries on.
Our Pre-10s, Year 10s and Year 12s are still in class as usual, even though some of our IGCSE students are balancing classes with the occasional mock exam thrown into the mix.

Mock Exam Season is officially underway ✍️
Our Year 10, 11 and 13 students are diving into their IGCSE and IBDP mock examinations — an important milestone that gives them a real taste of what’s to come later this year.
A busy couple of weeks ahead, plenty of highlighters, early mornings, and focused exam halls.
Good luck to all our examinees! ✨

Yesterday morning, our French students stepped into the world of ‘Le Comte de Monte-Cristo’ with a live theatre experience at Španski Borci.
Performed by the touring troupe Le Héron, the French-language adaptation brought Dumas’ classic to life as part of their Europe-wide tour in French, English, and Spanish.
It was a brilliant blend of language, literature, and live performance, for some learning outside of the classroom 🎭🇫🇷

Our ski trip, last week, to Golte was all about snow, teamwork, and most importantly connection. From carving down the slopes (including some very brave first-time skiers!) to hiking, sledding, and an epic whole-school Capture the Flag, every day brought new challenges and plenty of laughs.
Evenings were just as memorable, with team-building sessions and karaoke performances that… we may never fully forget 🎤😂
Huge thanks to our dedicated teachers and fantastic students for making this trip smooth, safe, and truly special. For more photos, check out our website ❄️ (https://www.vectoracademy.si/)

Last week, our VIA MUN team took part in the Gimnazija Bežigrad Model United Nations Conference 2026. Over three days, our students represented Kenya, France, and the Philippines across five committees, meeting delegates from Slovenia and across Europe.
For most, this was their second MUN conference, and a great opportunity to further develop their debating and diplomacy skills.
We’re proud to share that VIA students won two Honourable Mention Awards 🏅
An inspiring experience, and many more conferences to come! ✨

Yesterday afternoon, a few lucky VIA Physics students got the opportunity to visit the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics, at the University of Ljubljana, for a talk with Sunita Lyn Williams, the most successful astronaut with Slovenian origins.
She discussed the role of women in science, the importance of international cooperation, and encouraged young people to choose a path of research and innovation. She is definitely an inspiration for many young women going into STEM!
