🌍 As part of the DIGIN Workshop 👉 www.digin.si on September 18, 2025, in Maribor, SET4Inclusion partners hosted a multiplier event of the ERASMUS+ project AI-ENABLE 👉 https://aienable.eu/. During this session, we presented project activities, highlighted tools, benefits and challenges, and shared perspectives from professors. Good practices from Slovenia, Portugal, Turkey, and Spain – the partner countries – were also presented.
The DIGIN Workshop overall brought together more than 150 participants in a hybrid format – around 50 onsite and 100 online. The program focused on key challenges of digital inclusion, addressing the needs of visually impaired, deaf, autistic individuals and other vulnerable groups. Discussions emphasized that inclusion is a broad and complex topic that requires action from multiple perspectives. 🌐✨

To ensure accessibility, the event featured sign language interpreters, live captioning, and AI-based automatic translation provided by XPRO, supported by an excellent technical team that enabled a smooth and inclusive hybrid event. 👏

📢 SET4Inclusion Knowledge Supports Student Success at International Competition

A team of students from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (FERI), University of Maribor, together with a student from the Faculty of Education, achieved an excellent second place at the Global Competition on Design for Future Education (GCD4FE), organized by Beijing Normal University in China.

Their project focused on intergenerational learning, promoting inclusive exchange of knowledge and experiences between younger and older generations.

In developing their solution, the team drew on insights, methodologies, and resources from the SET4Inclusion project. These materials provided valuable support in shaping their inclusive and forward-thinking approach.

This result represents an important part of the dissemination and practical application of SET4Inclusion, demonstrating how the project contributes to the development of innovative and inclusive educational practices.

SET4Inclusion partners continue with workshops on Inclusive Education

✨ Exploring AI Tools for Pedagogical Innovations and Developing Best Practices in Inclusive Education – Part 2 of the Workshop

On December 12, 2024, AI-ENABLE partners from UM FERI together with colleagues from UM PEF conducted the second part of the workshop titled “Exploring AI Tools for Pedagogical Innovations and Developing Best Practices in Inclusive Education.”

In this primarily hands-on workshop, we started with a brief recap of the key concepts and examples from the previous session. Several new AI-related solutions in HEI, which were prepared by IUC partners, were also presented. Together, we identified the challenges educators face in their teaching practices and the challenges their students encounter. Educators noted issues among students such as disorganized and inconsistent work habits, poor time management, difficulties with group work, low motivation, varying levels of prior knowledge, speech-related challenges, and more. In their work, educators expressed the need for support in organizing materials, guiding students with diverse needs and backgrounds, alleviating workload, integrating international students, and maintaining autonomy in their teaching. Some of these challenges can be addressed through the use of AI tools; however, the risks associated with implementing such tools must also be carefully considered.

The professors will try AI tools in their classrooms in the following weeks and report their experiences. Based on their feedback, good practices on inclusive education with AI tools will be defined.
