JJ-Lipizzans Slovenia

JJ-Lipizzans Slovenia We are breeders of Lipizzaners, rare, but historically significant breed of royal horses in Slovenia Founder of this idea and center is me, Jana Jašović Memon.

We are breeders of Lipizzaners, rare, but historically significant breed of royal horses. I was put on a horse back in age of two, ever since I am dedicated to them. My first steps were done in riding school in Ljubljana in age of twelve. My training of dressage ridding was continued in ridding club till I bought my first Lipizzaner. He was black stallion bought in Croatia and in 2006 my first breeding mare followed. Ever since I am expanding breeding herd. In 2010 two breeding stallions arrived to Slovenia. Based on genetics of Stud Lipica, our herd has quite some of very high quality mares and foals to show. Yearly we sell some of our horses, so we kindly invite you follow our sales list.

𝟯𝟳𝟬 𝗠𝗮𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗼𝘀𝗼 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗮𝘂𝗿𝗮 𝗫𝗫𝗫𝗩𝗜𝗜𝗜 (𝗮𝗸𝗮 𝗠𝗮𝘅),
Born: 2024
Breed: Lipizzaner
Color: BLACK

The young Lipizzaner 𝟯𝟳𝟬 𝗠𝗮𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗼𝘀𝗼 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗮𝘂𝗿𝗮 𝗫𝗫𝗫𝗩𝗜𝗜𝗜, stands out with his rare black color, correct Lipizzaner in classical breeding type, and well-balanced temperament.

Max is growing up in a small group of young geldings, which provides him with excellent socialization. This type of upbringing encourages confidence, mental stability, and very good social behavior. He is people-oriented, calm, friendly, and easy to handle in everyday situations (rope lead, easy for trimming, easy for trailer loading and traveling, easy around the vet), making him a promising young prospect for sport, classical dressage, or leisure riding.

He is healthy, correctly developed, and growing appropriately for his age. He is being raised in a natural environment according to the traditional principles of Lipizzaner breeding.

Highlights:
* Rare BLACK Lipizzaner
* Raised in a small group of young stallions
* Calm, confident, and friendly temperament
* Healthy development and correct growth
* Excellent potential for the future

𝗦𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲𝘀 𝗕𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗠𝗲𝗮𝗻𝘀 𝗠𝗮𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗛𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗗𝗲𝗰𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀

Breeders are often put to the test. This time, it is our turn.
Not every story begins with ribbons, celebrations, or joyful announcements. Some begin with uncertainty, long nights, and difficult decisions. That is the reality of responsible horse breeding.
One week ago, during our morning check, we found Maestoso Monteaura standing on only three legs. As every breeder knows, that sight instantly fills your mind with countless possibilities, none of them pleasant.
Our veterinarian arrived promptly, and he was immediately placed on strict box rest while beginning anti-inflammatory treatment. Three days later, despite medication, there was little improvement. We proceeded with radiographs, hoping to find the cause. Thankfully, the X-rays showed no fractures or bone abnormalities.
The next step was ultrasonography. The ultrasound revealed an injury to his suspensory ligament.

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝘂𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝗟𝗶𝗴𝗮𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁?
The suspensory ligament is one of the horse's most important supporting structures. Running down the back of the cannon bone before dividing into two branches around the fetlock, it acts like a powerful natural spring. Its role is to support the fetlock joint during every stride, absorb enormous forces generated during movement, and prevent the fetlock from sinking excessively under the horse's weight. Every walk, trot, canter, jump, or playful gallop depends on this remarkable ligament doing its job. Without it, normal movement simply isn't possible.
Because horses are large animals carried on remarkably slender limbs, the suspensory ligament endures tremendous stress every single day. When injured, healing cannot be rushed. Ligaments receive relatively limited blood supply, meaning recovery requires patience measured not in weeks, but often in months.

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗻𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘀 𝗚𝗶𝘃𝗲𝘀 𝗨𝘀 𝗛𝗼𝗽𝗲
The most important part of this story is the prognosis. 𝙊𝙪𝙧 𝙫𝙚𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙞𝙣𝙖𝙧𝙞𝙖𝙣 𝙞𝙨 𝙤𝙥𝙩𝙞𝙢𝙞𝙨𝙩𝙞𝙘 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙈𝙖𝙚𝙨𝙩𝙤𝙨𝙤 𝙈𝙤𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙖𝙪𝙧𝙖 𝙞𝙨 𝙚𝙭𝙥𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙚𝙙 𝙩𝙤 𝙢𝙖𝙠𝙚 𝙖 𝙛𝙪𝙡𝙡 𝙧𝙚𝙘𝙤𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙮 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙡𝙞𝙫𝙚 𝙖 𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙥𝙡𝙚𝙩𝙚𝙡𝙮 𝙣𝙤𝙧𝙢𝙖𝙡 𝙡𝙞𝙛𝙚, provided everything continues according to plan. That prognosis made our decision straightforward. We are choosing the long road.
The road of careful rehabilitation.
The road of strict box rest.
The road of regular veterinary supervision.
The road of repeated ultrasound examinations that will guide every step of his recovery.
Healing a suspensory ligament cannot be based on hope alone. It must be monitored, evaluated, and adjusted according to what the ligament itself tells us through each follow-up examination.

𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗦𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲𝘀 𝗠𝗲𝗮𝗻𝘀 𝗦𝗮𝘆𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗚𝗼𝗼𝗱𝗯𝘆𝗲
People occasionally ask where we draw the line. The answer is hard reality.
If a veterinarian told us that a horse had no realistic chance of recovery, that he would spend the rest of his life unable to move comfortably, or that permanent suffering was unavoidable, we would make the hardest decision any breeder or owner can face.
We would let him go.
Not because we love him less.
Because we love him enough.
I have always believed that horses are animals born to move.
To graze.
To run.
To play.
To interact with their herd.
Movement is at the very heart of what makes a horse a horse. If we permanently take that away, we must honestly ask ourselves what kind of life remains.
Fortunately, that is not the story we are living today.
Today, we are living a story of hope.

𝗔 𝗕𝗿𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗟𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗹𝗲 𝗣𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁
Today, our little boy received his first laser therapy treatment, one of the many supportive therapies being used during his rehabilitation.
The videos speak louder than words.
Even while confined to his stable, he shows the same gentle character, calm mind, and trusting nature that has always made him special.
He is one of many wonderful horses in our herd, but today he reminds us why we do what we do.
Horse breeding is never only about beautiful foals or prestigious pedigrees.
It is about standing beside them when life becomes difficult.
And we will stand beside Maestoso Monteaura for every single step of this journey.
We are hopeful.
We are patient.
And we believe that one day, this little boy will once again run freely across the pastures where he belongs.

Our amazing herd. ❤️

There is something truly special about spending time with them. Surrounded by the raw beauty of the wild Slavnik landscape, everything seems to slow down. The herd moves together with quiet confidence, and their calm energy is impossible not to feel.

Watching them live as horses were meant to live—free to roam, graze, and simply be horses—is a daily reminder of why we do what we do.

This is more than horse breeding. It's a way of life. 🐴🌿
