For more than 33 years, some of the world’s leading scholars and professionals in public relations and strategic communication have been gathering in Bled at the beginning of summer for BledCom – the International Public Relations Research Symposium.
Throughout all these years, participants from the United States have consistently been among the three largest national groups attending BledCom. So this is really excellent news for us: starting next May, there will be direct flights from New York to Ljubljana.
Given the increasingly chaotic experience of connecting through many European airports in recent years, a direct New York–Ljubljana flight will make travelling to BledCom so much easier for our American colleagues.
And, of course, it works both ways. New York will suddenly be close enough for us to hop over for a long weekend.
New York is my second-favourite city in the world, right after London. One of my few regrets is that, when I was younger, I never managed to spend at least some time studying or working there.
So: welcome, New York. And see you in Bled! 🇺🇸🇸🇮
