The fastest route to confidence in exams has never changed — it is the ability to remember, recognise, and retrieve what you have learnt. To identify familiar question types. To recall the right formula, the correct bond name, the reactivity trend — at speed, under pressure.💪

Yes, memorisation without understanding will never work. But after years of teaching science, my real challenge is not that students don’t understand.
They do.
They just cannot answer — because they don’t remember.😭

They hesitate because the formula isn’t at the back of their mind. They freeze because the keywords don’t come readily. They second-guess because the trends are fuzzy. Understanding alone does not translate into marks if recall is weak.

While many are searching for hacks, or the next “smarter” way to study, the real breakthrough remains quietly unchanged:
active recall, consistent practice, and deliberate memory work.

It may not sound exciting.
But it is still how strong results are built — steadily, and sustainably.⭐

That is why at Hannahtuition, we are very intentional about practice and recall.
Our tutors chase homework.
We test students regularly — through structured practices, online quizzes, and even on-site mini whiteboard games. Not to stress them, but to train retrieval, reinforce memory, and build exam readiness.

At Hannahtuition, we believe a strong academic foundation is essential for every secondary tutor — it’s how we ensure students are guided with clarity and confidence by those who’ve walked the same path themselves. 😊

All our tutors are NTU or NUS Honours/Master’s graduates or undergraduates who have excelled in Maths and Science at the GCE exams and are deeply familiar with the current syllabus.

For the past few years, Mrs Hannah Chew has been coaching only the graduating classes, while all our tutors conduct lessons using Mrs Hannah’s customised lesson plans and materials.

Many students have achieved excellent results under our team’s tutelage (SEE either good results highlights on our IG or our results consolidation posts on FB pinned post 😊). We are deeply grateful to be part of their learning journey. 🌟

Many years ago, I was working in retail during university term break on Christmas Day.

The shift is from 10am to 930pm. Then I have to take a 45mins MRT ride home, knowing that I need to be at the retail store early tomorrow. It was really tiring. 😬 And more than that, I felt lonely.

Thank God there wasn’t any fb or Instagram back then. Can’t imagine seeing everyone's currated perfect Christmas. 😅

I just dragged my tired body home, bathed, popped my tired legs up on a pillow and sleep to escape from all those lousy feelings. Super regret that I took on the holiday job but yet I know I will feel bad and lousy for not working during the long university break too.

Then, fast forward a few years, my serious romantic relationship since teenhood broke down end Oct. That Christmas felt excruciating. I felt unworthy and hopeless. Even more crushed when I have to take medication to manage my emotions for a year in my mid-twenties.

It was also that valley period that I found Christ …❤️

Life look very different even 1 year from the lowest point. I met new people at my corporate work and I no longer feel overwhelming hopelessness, though healing is not linear.

Almost 2 decades later, I am living a completely different life now. Living a life that I feel deeply grateful to live; having the chance to teach my favourite subjects, watching youth grow and mature. Thankful for courage to lead a team of wonderful tutors and deeply humbled doing life with my beautiful family too❤️

Just want to encourage whoever is in the valley now ; to be patient and go with life’s flow. Do the right things. And if you are a Christian, trust God and lean in tight on Him.

One day - you will look back and see how far you have come. You will be living a life you can't imagine right now.

I just came back from a country having winter and looking at those withered trees reminds me nothing blooms all the time and seasons are part of God’s plan. God make everything beautiful in His time.
