"I studied Media and Communications, but am becoming a Geography teacher" Mr Muhammad Danial Mohamed Khalid aspired to be a radio presenter. But stepping back into class to teach a workshop made him switch gears to becoming the voice of a classroom – and to teach a completely different subject at that. He shares his story.

NIE welcomed 69 Senior Teachers from the Teacher Leaders Programme 1 at today’s Orientation, marking the start of a 10-week journey that will run until 4 September 2026.

The programme commences with an Opening Address by A/P Chow Jia Yi, Dean, Teacher Education and Undergraduate Programmes (TEUP), followed by a Welcome Address from Mr Anthony Andrew Michael, Principal Master Teacher (History), Academy of Singapore Teachers (AST).

Partipants also gained invaluable insights through Professor Liu Woon Chia’s (Director, NIE) presentation of how NIE research can be applied meaningfully in classrooms.

We also thank colleagues from IN-Learning, Digital Solutions, NIE Library, and TEUP for conducting their respective briefings.
